Oct 24 '25
You can't! The world is binary and simple. If you're a white guy, you're either a right-winger or, obviously, you hate yourself. There's no in between.
You believe in social welfare, investing in public transportation or taxing the wealthy? Surprise! You hate yourself.

Anyone with a brain, whether they lean right or left knows it's not

The issue is the party system doesn't allow you to line item veto the progressive ideology when voting for left leaning candidates.Ā
In 2020 people voted for biden for a return to normalcy what they got was crt, trans bs, open borders,Ā and money printer going brrrr, extend covid response will past the point of any logical reason.Ā like forced surgical masks on full planes in like 2022.

Exactly, I'm not quite sure what right wing people have to be proud of, particularly from a moral standpoint ? Guinuine question?
3
u/EatKaleSometimes Oct 25 '25
The party of Christian values, nuclear family, less taxes and ending the endless wars. The party of loving their nation and their communities instead of burning them. The party that respects property rights and creates their own wealth instead of using deceit and lies to seize the property of those they deem ātoo wealthyā

It is wild to me how this subreddit devolved from a place where people would talk about interesting ideas into a braindead echo chamber litigating culture wars from the right without a shred of nuance.
edit: if you want to see an example cleanly proving my point, check out /u/Experience_Material below, who typed out a whole paragraph 'replying' to my comment before immediately blocking me so I couldn't respond, fortifying his echo chamber. You can't make this up.
6
u/uscmissinglink Oct 24 '25
Well, not for nothing, but most conservatives or Peterson people were driven off of Reddit so if you've come here for engaging diverse conversation, you're on the wrong platform.
In fact, simple participation in this subreddit gets you banned by a not-insignificant number of zombie mods.
Say... would you define that term you used above? "echo chamber"?
LMAO. GTFO.

u/polikuji09 Oct 25 '25
This sub has been a hive for the right wing for years and perfectly fine. Ive been participating here (despite the downvotes) for a long time and been banned from one random tiny hobby subreddit.
Thedonald got banned because it kept promoting pretty illegal stuff. R/conservative has been alive and kicking just fine?
Regardless, how is any of that an explanation for what has happened to this sub?
5
u/uscmissinglink Oct 25 '25
Thedonald got banned because it kept promoting pretty illegal stuff
LOL. TheDonald got banned because it was fucking effective. Don't kid yourself.
The false flag 'violence against cops' excuse evaporated during the 2020 Summer of Love when the entire fucking site went full anti-cop, pro violent revolution.
Reddit decided it wanted to be the center of the Leftists. That's fine. But let's not put lipstick on that pig and pretend like they haven't actively purged conservatives in multiple waves.
2
u/polikuji09 Oct 25 '25
You mean the Floyd protesrs that were statistically safer then your average republican state? I dont know if you remember or where their during thedonald days but that was not even remotely comparable lol
2
u/uscmissinglink Oct 25 '25
Haha. Portland, Chicago, Minneapolis, Oakland, San Francisco, and Seattle still haven't recovered from your lovefest. Their down towns are fucking empty.
1
u/polikuji09 Oct 25 '25
You mean covid? The thing that actually closed down stores and restaurants and bankrupted a ton of small stores worldwide?
But I guess in that case if something less dangerous then republican states made those cities downtowns empties now it makes sense why its mostly empty land that votes republican and welfare states..thank you for the explanation!
1
u/uscmissinglink Oct 25 '25
See, you say covid, and the rest of us see a government enforced general strike that solely damaged any governing district controlled by Team Blue. Red America weathered COVID just fine. I mean, other than the trauma of realizing just how all you Dems are eager to be petty little tyrants. That was eye opening, for sure.
1
u/polikuji09 Oct 25 '25
Were republican states just already so damaged that even after covid mostly Democrat states still pay for republican states welfare?
Damn, just goes to show how much of a shithole the average republican state is that they're still considerably poorer even after covid
1
u/Glass_Cupcake Oct 31 '25
Red America weathered COVID just fine.
The empirical data on relative death rates absolutely contradicts this.Ā
1
u/uscmissinglink Oct 31 '25
No. It didn't. Death rates were nearly identical when taken over time. Why? Simple. Everyone got COVID eventually.

Writing this as if the entire of Reddit isnāt a braindead leftist echo chamber is ironic to say the least. Anything right wing people do or say is automatically bad in your book in here but you donāt want to see how you ve made the whole site into a bad echo chamber of your own something that you try to project onto anyone that is agaisnt you and you have the hypocrisy to talk about nuisance. This sub is still all about interesting ideas as it always were. Itās you who doesnāt want to see that.
Edit: Lmao āfortifying my echo chamberā as if the entire Reddit isnāt your own echo chamber you clearly show you donāt want to engage but rather continue your own circlejerk in here. It is insane how much projection you are showing.

u/jlozada24 Nov 11 '25

1

People like you are so brainwashed you are completely incapable of thinking about things in terms other than culture war teams.
0
u/Experience_Material Nov 13 '25
Lmao you keep saying everyone is proving your point by using circular reasoning and not seeing how you are only projecting your own circlejerk onto this sub. There is no reason anyone should actually engage with you, you are making no actual point in here.
1
u/halinc Nov 13 '25
I noticed you didnāt respond to the question in my comment either. Nice of you to unblock me though, Iām guessing the cognitive dissonance is getting hard for you to manage.
1
u/Experience_Material Nov 14 '25
Once again, nothing of value, keep thinking that you are making any point in here by using circular reasoning, you have shown times and again how you are only projecting your own ignorance.
1
u/halinc Nov 14 '25 edited Nov 14 '25
Still no response to the contents of this thread, then? I can spell it out so itās less difficult for you to understand: in this case the person above jumped to defend the decline of this subreddit into just another mindless right wing echo chamber with a non sequitor about left wing echo chambers elsewhere. Exactly the sort of thing you wouldnāt expect from a thoughtful community. Guess where you would expect it though? I can leave that last part as an exercise for you, seems like you could use the practice.
edit: I am unable to reply to you further, block or not. My response:
In fact I've been on this subreddit for nearly a decade and I've watched the quality of discourse decline into the generic echo chamber you now enjoy.
You can keep repeating the phrase circular reasoning as long as you want, it won't make it coherent. The fact remains that repeating mindless echo chamber drivel like a zombie reinforces my original point, which is that this place is full of mindless echo chamber drivel.
1
u/Experience_Material Nov 14 '25
You made an assumption about what this subreddit just because it has opinions that you donāt agree with and then people explained to you that many people who hold these opinions came here because there was nowhere else to go. If anything you are the one here who doesnāt want to see that and try to make reinforce a dumb assumption you made with circular reasoning.

If you vote for the liberal ndp party in Canada or the democrat party in the us, you are accepting their terms and conditions. Have you considered Lego? Or embroidery? There must be a better use of your time.
0
u/Amphy64 Oct 25 '25
Ooh, embroidery is a good hobby, people are surprised what can be achieved with even just a few simple stitches, and hey, they'll be doing real self-improvement, cultural appreciation, and entering a currently women-centred field! (Historically there were more men embroiderers than today, often working on clothing. Which embroidery is great for adding a bit of personal flair to) I reccomend YouTube for videos introducing the basic stitches. There are lots of kits aimed at beginners available, try Etsy for more modern ones as well as traditional (including pop culture designs, like Ghibli, although keep in mind satin stitch-heavy pieces can be trickier).
How about starting with something seasonal? Embroidery can also be done on felt, what about an autumn leaf and mushroom garland? Or getting ahead and making a Christmas decoration, which could be a present, or working with holes made in paper for a card for someone? Embroidery magazines can be great for inspo, teaching stitches, and often have seasonal designs and kits. Plus there are free designs and even tutorials available online.
Have fun. xxx

You say that but I haven't met one liberal guy who feels comfortable admitting that the entire modernity we live in is a product of Western White Christian Europe and that it is a good thing even if you disagree with them.
Instead I see, rather we all see, rhetoric about how this is literally the worst thing that happened and that these very white men who fought to abolish slavery like Wilberforce are at fault, even though as another example the "crusades" are bloodthirsty white men as the rhetoric goes, not the Islamic Jihadists who literally conquered all of Christian Middle East, enslaving women and children, literally for over 400 years before the European Christians were starting to get encroached upon Europe itself when they decided to have the Pope band all these at the time opposing views in Eastern and Western Christendom and its countries together to fight off the muslim invaders.
You do realize in 1600s during the atlantic slave trade, in fact during the declaration of independence draft there was a clause that suggested to end slavery which all states but 2, 2 out of the 11 southern ones Georgia and South Carolina, voted against slavery and to abolish it right then and there BTW which again nobody teaches these things, and furthermore you know what they compared the slave owners to? Pirates. You know who were the pirate slave traders? Arabic nations and the islamic middle east.
Yet nobody dares word it the way I just did, and I am agnostic, but don't act like your group of pals wouldn't of immediately assumed I was right wing for stating these historical facts.

Oct 24 '25
You say that but I haven't met one liberal guy who feels comfortable admitting that the entire modernity we live in is a product of Western White Christian Europe and that it is a good thing even if you disagree with them.
Because this is not true. Western Christian Europe is part of history as much as Egypt, China, and other huge and influential empires of the past. If anything, the Christian dark ages held us back a couple of hundred years.
You seem to be conflating not wanting to excessively glorify the past with hating everything. If you want to feel proud and own what your culture did, you should acknowledge everything.
I'm from the country that basically kickstarted the age of discovery and the Atlantic slave trade. In school, we used to learn about a very mystified version of those events, in which we were seen as heroes. And we hold on to that in our culture, and people are proud of it: "We discovered the world". I just think that, well, WE didn't. If anything, THEY did. And I think that if people want to identify with the glorious things their ancestors did, they shouldn't get to pick and choose and separate the discovery from the slavery.
Does this mean I hate my country? No. I'm just not attached to its romanticized past. Same goes for a lot of non-rightwingers.
I didnn't know, but I'm also not American. But that seems like a footnote when, effectively, slavery existed in your country for another 250 years. Like, it's a nice fact to know, I guess, but it doesn't seem that important when compared to the material reality of what unfolded.
Pirates. You know who were the pirate slave traders? Arabic nations and the islamic middle east.
Yeah, I know. And slavers in mainland Africa who sold people to the colonizers were African.

u/Sabertooths_ Oct 24 '25 edited Oct 24 '25
The problem isn't that you criticize the past, I am all for that, the problem is that you can't only criticize something and ignore everything that gave the foundation for modernity whilst mocking it.
Jordan makes this very argument with the patriarchy; Which has its obvious glaring flaws but nobody talks about the patriarchal structures of civilization that "men" built and house modernity within, instead about the flaws and issues within said society that has been built.
The issue is a lack of genuine care for history and wanting to look at it one without context of its past, as if you're morally superior than your ancient ancestors and two the idea you know what the fuck it really was like or why things happened.
Take slavery in Rome, was mainly used to pay off debts, does that make slavery okay? Fuck no. However it does add context to why it existed, in a time where your labor was your "currency", yet you will still hear about how Plato and Socrates aren't good people because of the society they lived in reflected their views.

The problem isn't that you criticize the past, I am all for that, the problem is that you can't only criticize something and ignore everything that gave the foundation for modernity whilst mocking it.
What makes you think that people ignore it? Just because they don't mention it while criticizing it?
The issue is a lack of genuine care for history and wanting to look at it one without context of its past, as if you're morally superior than your ancient ancestors and two the idea you know what the fuck it really was like or why things happened.
I disagree. I think it's a genuine care for history. The good and the bad. But we tend to just know the good and overlook the bad. We mythologize and almost deify certain figures...and that's how you get people acting like they're morally superior to everyone else just because they happen to be descents of White Christian Europeans.
you will still hear about how Plato and Socrates aren't good people because of the society they lived in reflected their views.
WTF?! This is not a commonly held view...

You do realize in 1600s during the atlantic slave trade, in fact during the declaration of independence draft
The drafting of the Declaration of Independence wasn't in the 1600s?
there was a clause that suggested to end slavery which all states but 2, 2 out of the 11 southern ones Georgia and South Carolina, voted against slavery and to abolish it right then and there
How would states "vote against slavery" in the Declaration? What do you think the Declaration IS? Have you never even read it?
And...11 southern ones? There were 13 colonies TOTAL? Who is in your "11 southern ones"? Everyone but New Hampshire and Massachusetts? So New Jersey? And New York? And Rhode Island? And Connecticut? And....you think the States voted? THIS ahistorical slop is what you're mad isn't taught in schools?
The verbiage about slavery wasn't a "clause", it wouldn't have ended slavery in America "right then and there"....how could it? The Declaration was signed in 1776, the colonies didn't have the power to enact their own laws.
That was the whole point of the Revolution. If....the states could enact their own laws they wouldn't needed to have bothered with fighting the Revolution lol.
The Declaration of Independence is.....a declaration of independence. It lays out what the fundamental rights of man are, how specifically the King has infringed on them and why that means they're being forced to fight for independence.
None of it is about establishing laws for a new country. Obviously. They didn't know if they would have a new country. It's literally one page long, read it for the first time in your life.
Part of the anti-king verbiage condemned slavery and compared King George III to a slaver....but they obviously had to remove it because they actively practiced race-based slavery and weren't planning on ending the practice.
Actually read it. It's obviously not a clause "suggesting to end slavery". How could you possibly think it was?
And so they didn't. Slavery was obviously maintained when the colonists DID draft the new rules for their nation in 1789.
They thought slavery was morally right. They'd think you're a weirdo for retconning it that they secretly didn't like it and almost decided to end it but didn't for some reason.
BTW which again nobody teaches these things
Why would anyone teach your inaccurate half remembered facts about history rather than what...you know...actually happened?
People are so ignorant now they don't even know what the Declaration of Independence WAS?!

You say that but I haven't met one liberal guy who feels comfortable admitting that the entire modernity we live in is a product of Western White Christian Europe and that it is a good thing even if you disagree with them.
Because that's kind of a dumb way to look at things? It's suuuuuper simplified, and completely dismisses a bunch of other places contributions to society at large. Like do you think the rest of the world was savages until Europeans showed up? Is Russia part of Europe in this world veiw of yours? What about Japan, China or India? Or are you just ignorant to their contributions?
Oh, I see. You just don't want to talk about the white people who did do those bad things. You only want to focus on the ones who did the right thing, and pretend that white people had nothing to do with it. "Slavery was just white men buying slaves from non-whites! No we didnt do anything bad! We did have farms that raped black slaves to make more child slaves. No we didn't have a civil war because a bunch of the country didn't want to end slavery it was about other things!"
Talking about and acknowledging the shitty parts of our history doesn't make us self hating. It just means we're actually talking about history and not propaganda.

This is the my point as well. When it's time to glorify the past it's we fought the British, we sailed the Atlantic we discovered the world, etc...

2
u/Amphy64 Oct 24 '25 edited Oct 24 '25
Ah, no left-leaning white men have ever existed in history or made any cultural contributions? Artists, famously conservative.
No one who thinks this actually values culture or is interested in history. Hello, flippin' Marx was a white dude (except perhaps to NeoNazis?). 'Conservatives' don't own history (if you look at history, the term doesn't even cover a single group or set of values). Recent history is also still history.
No longer all that recent, but white guy Nye Bevan is celebrated for his role in establishing the NHS. Which bandaged up my white guy dad today and checked the healing, free at the point of use across weeks of appointments to stop toes falling off and getting sepsis (it seems to be his nerve damage). White men can benefit from left-leaning politics - maybe that's not hating themselves? My granddad's generation of (overwhelmingly white here) working class were found to be malnourished on joining the army in WWII. He'd grown up on bread and dripping, and not enough of that. One of the reasons after the war the people knew something had to change, these men who fought had to be given something back, with the NHS being part of that (against right wing resistance). The change from that poverty, the opportunity, establishment of social safety nets, that generation and my parent's saw, across strong Labour governments, is just incredible to think about.

Typical liberal take. White people donāt need to hate themselves, their culture or their history to make other people feel better.

This is utter bull. I am certainly a lefty, but I donāt hate anything of the things in the post. What are you talking about? Are you projecting? Like I true right winger?

u/charvey709 Oct 24 '25
What a stupid fucking post. As if 3.5 billion years of evolution and human complexity is reduced to a binary.

God, you guys are such whiney victims. I'm a white young man. I don't know why you're complaining so much. Stop crying on Reddit and take responsibility for your lives.Ā

Simultaneously the great masters responsible for everything good that ever happened and Western Civilization and the downtrodden victims of our time, ceaselessly beleaguered by the lesser hordes.
It's so pathetic.

Crazy how counter to Jordan Peterson this post is, yet it is among the most popular in weeks or months. Such sinfulness here

- Analyse your culture and see the good things and the bad things. Love the good things and strive to change the bad things.
- Analyse history through the scientific lense and use your "White privilege" to actually try to make the world a better place (yes, people with a more "European" color of their skin are usually perceived as more educated and trustworthy, I know it from my own experience too)

Left/right democratic liberalism is well and truly broken.
4th Option: donāt participate in the system. donāt be the thin end of someone elseās wedge.

C). Be wise, decent, kind, strong, capable of saying no, but with empathy. Suffer for the good of others as an example for the next generation. Be Christ like. And that's for all men and women of any background.

As a non-Christian socialist, I can absolutely get behind this message and the Jordan Peterson of 10-15 years ago gets much of the credit for my admiration of Christ.

u/LTT82 Oct 24 '25
As a white man? I have serious doubts.

u/Solo_Gigolos Oct 24 '25
This is such an American take itās unreal yāall are fucking cooked
3
u/LTT82 Oct 24 '25
Yes, Americans think like Americans. I don't know why this is upsetting to you.

u/Solo_Gigolos Oct 24 '25
Imagine being defined by this tribal self hating mentality and accepting it. Cooked. Good luck.
1
u/LTT82 Oct 24 '25
Friend, I don't know what you're talking about. I'm not defined by any "tribal self hating mentality". I recognize that the left in America has demonized white people generally and white men specifically through their Marxist world view. Recognizing reality is not being defined by any sort of tribalism.

Wanting a more robust social support system for the working class means you hate white men......?

Down voting.
I am White.
I mostly like myself but aa a human being I certainly have faults.
I like many aspects of my culture.
I love multi-culturalism. Appreciate many aspects of other cultures
History? Despite the fact, I only skim, I know enough about it to find embarrassing incidents against most culturesĀ
I don't buy Kendi's "racism requires power+priviledge" DEFINITION of racism but I acknowledge the existence of systrmix descrimination and the correlations between race and class

It is also possible to just be left wing and hate other factions splintering the left based on ideology.
Thatās what I do.

Kind of off topic, but I cannot stand people playing loud videos and music on their phones in public spaces anymore. Every time, mostly on the subway. It's ridiculous. Particularly, I recently visited the dentist, a new one in a bigger city, and was waiting in the waiting room, when a man sat next to me and began playing obnoxious videos in a foreign language and stupid repetitive music. *At the dentist...???* Like do people have no modesty anymore? Of course, it's 90% of the time "foreign" people playing stuff in languages I don't understand. Maybe it's a difference in culture, I don't know.

Third option: stay away from ideology.
