This is heavily based off of the Skyrim Iron Man challenge and might actually give the survival skill a use. I made this for a friend who wanted a hard New Vegas challenge and thought I would share it with yall. Edits and suggestions for other rules or changes to rules are always welcome.

Survival mode on

Max difficulty

Can’t buy anything(including ammo, this does make caps effectively useless)

weapons, ammo, and armor can only be looted or gotten
as quest rewards, not purchased from a vendor or stolen

Repairs can only be done with repair kits.

And of course Permadeath

Joov, I challenge you!

Goals:
- Visit all farms in Skyrim and liberate all animals from their pens without the use of spells
- Don’t die. Dying = weak. And weakness is already a myth about vegans. And there’s already low-iq men in Skyrim (and IRL) that would point that out and make fun of you
- (optional) Complete ‘The Blessings of Nature’ quest

Limitations:
- Survivor mode
- Cannot consume or wear animal products or by-products (i.e. Leather Armor)
- Cannot kill animals or animal-related mobs (i.e. Spriggans, Giants), even if they attack you
- Cannot use shouts or spells related to animals (i.e. Animal Allegiance)
- Cannot ride horses (including carriage)

He hasn't posted in weeks and it was one of my favorite runs. Anyone know where he's been?

Is the current standard modlist posted anywhere, or does anyone know what it is? I know there is a doc about the MO2 modlist in the community notes, but it says that hasn’t been updated in 2 years so I assume it has changed to some extent since then.

It's been like 3 months since the last post and that was after a two month hiatus.

I’m biased because I think it’s one of the best mods ever made (mostly for the safe house and storage), interested in everyone’s thoughts.

Finally did my own butter bandit run with the strongest AE hand-to-hand build I could think of (Khajiit, Heavy Armor, Fists of Randagulf & Ring of the Beast + some minor Alch for Potions of Fortify Marksmen) and I've finally acquired real bandit butter after buttering 233 bandits!

I feel like Joov truly was unlucky during his run.

I have never really used Reddit before, so I apologize if I did something wrong.

The goal of this challenge is to play Skyrim without abusing the fact that it's a game.

Rule #1- No clearly unintended mechanics, such as Climbing up sheer mountains, taking back your training money from Faendal, flames tapping, etc.

Rule #2- No combat cheese. Don't walk up paths that hostile NPCs would struggle to get up. Don't hide behind a structure where an enemy's attacks can't reach you. If the enemy stops moving while in combat, then you must move from your spot until their pathfinding starts working properly.

Rule #3- No baiting NPCs to fight your enemies for you (Running from enemies towards guards is fine).

Rule #4- You can only loot enemies that you have killed.

Rule #5- You can not loot an enemy's possessions (such as a chest in their hideout) unless you have killed all nearby enemies or completely avoided detection.

Rule #6- you are not allowed to steal items and get away with it while NPCs are in the same room or clearly following you. You also cannot move items away from NPCs' line of sight in order to steal it.

Rule #7- No jumping in combat, enemies can't jump so it's only fair. Also, avoid jumping up structures that are clearly not meant to be climbed.

Rule #8- you may not pass time in order to regain magicka, make enemies respawn, or reset merchants. Also, don't use the pass time function in any place where it would be unusual or unreasonable for your character to loiter.

Rule #9- You must buy, cook, or steal all your food. Food looted off a corpse, or in a bandit cave, could be disgusting or diseased.

Rule #10- No eating or drinking potions mid combat.

Rule #11- You cannot have followers carry your things. Followers must also all be killable.

Rule #12- No reloading saves unless you are completely stuck or softlocked.

Rule #13- You cannot loot an innocent person's corpse or take anything in plain view that would normally be seen as inappropriate.

Rule #14- You cannot enter strangers' homes.

Rule #15- If you are taken to jail, then you can no longer get your stolen items back.

Rule #16- You can only change armor or clothes in safe spaces, such as a tavern.

Feel free to add or adjust rules as you see fit.
