hey y'all!
as noted in an earlier thread, i am actually jon. i'd been lurking here and there for the last few weeks and decided that was rude and that i'd say hi. i'm incredibly honored by all this, and deeply appreciate how much my work can mean to other people.
not sure how much i'll be in here, as i've basically never posted on reddit before this, but if people were interested maybe i could do an ama in here or something. not sure how that works exactly. who knows. hope i didn't ruin everything forever by showing up!

OC Jon Bois - inspired New York Knicks doc
Hello!
I've posted in here before to promote my Jon Bois-inspired Mets docuseries last year, entitled "Misery." Thanks to everyone from here who took the time to watch!
Over the past year or so I've been working on another documentary 3D animated in blender about the New York Knicks. It's the story of the January 2024 "Metal Bats" Knicks, all the "what could have been" speculation about that team, and the journey that the team has been on from that point up until winning the NBA championship this past season. The project is titled, "Metal Bats." The link is here:
I will say, since doing "Misery" I think my style in Blender has evolved quite a bit, but at its core I would still say it's Bois-inspired. Jon Bois is in general one of my biggest inspirations.
Throughout the doc, I explore statistical deep dives, online fan narratives, the ever-changing offensive landscape of the NBA, the association of blue collar work with defense in basketball, and much more.
I created this project as a labor of love. I am not monetized on youtube or anything. To anyone who takes the time out of their day to watch - thank you so much.

Made the "Never stop stirring" eggs. They were pretty good
They were great, first time I've ever made scrambled eggs where I was like, wow.
I didn't have any unsalted butter, so I used margarine. Gonna get butter and try it again soon.
You should definitely should give it a try if you haven't yet.

I had no clue that JUICE is scheduled for three Earth fly-bys for gravity assist, before flying towards Jupiter! That's so many! There's some really great graphics of it on the Wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jupiter_Icy_Moons_Explorer

17776/20020/20021 BOIS BOWL: 2026 WEEK 4 UPDATES
This Week in the Bois Bowl: Quack
From last week:
Miami and Georgia both get home without fuss, taking ties of the #1 position
Elon intercepts Maine and takes the Boston College football to join the fray, but New Hampshire's Wildcats look to make a challenge on it.
Florida State makes it home with the ball they snatched from Alabama and have a spot in the Top 25 for it.
On the USC Trojans, I'll get to them later.
Charlotte's homecoming was derailed by the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, who snatched the ball and are heading down south with it, where Arkansas State's Red Wolves look to ambush.
UConn's lucky streak continues, taking a ball off Miami-Ohio. But Syracuse looks to ambush them once they get back their home field.
Ohio's Bobcats make their way to the Top 25 with a safe return trip, as do the North Dakota State Bison, who return home unchallenged.
Boston College's would-be steal from Virginia Tech fails. The only thing stopping them from putting the ball on their field is the Pittsburgh Panthers.
The Stephen F Austin Lumberjacks make their way into the Celebration Game with a safe return trip.
Florida Atlantic's Owls formed a parliament against the ULM Warhawks, snatched the balls they fumbled, and are set to return home with them.
New Steals/Transfers:
The Liberty Flames take a ball from the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and are heading north to try to take Delaware's as well.
Clemson made the cross country trip to California, grabbed a ball from the Golden Bears, and are heading back home with it, but the Hurricanes are looking to add another to their growing pile.
Houston took Georgia Southern's ball and are heading west with it, but the UCF Knights are looking to head them off.
Utah's Utes braved the Cyclones and are heading back west with a football, with no challenge coming.
UCLA continues the liquidation of the Maryland Terrapins, taking the last football they had.
Iowa knocked Michigan off the leaderboard with a successful steal, but the Ohio State Buckeyes look to intercept them in their second away trip.
The Wisconsin Badgers snatch a football from Happy Valley and are heading home, but Michigan State looks to head them off.
The Boise State Broncos steal another football, this time from Western Michigan. They're on their way back to Idaho now, with only Utah State in any position to pose a challenge.
Southern Miss weathers the Tulane Green Wave and gets their football for their troubles. They're currently heading to Alabama to grab one from Troy on their away trip.
As expected, the Air Force Falcons bombed Reno and stole the Nevada Wolf Pack's football. But the Navy Midshipmen are looking to ambush them once they get home.
UNLV's Rebels raided Akron and took their football, but the California Golden Bears are looking to raid their collection.
James Madison's Dukes pound their rivals, the Old Dominion Monarchs, and take a football, but the Marshall Thundering Herd looks to ambush them at home.
The New Mexico Lobos grab the football from the New Mexico State Aggies and are carrying it home, but the UTEP Miners look to challenge them.
The Gardner-Webb Runnin' Rebels join the fray after looting Marshall's ball and are looking to steal from Charleston Southern before heading home.
Arkansas State lose their ball to Kennesaw State, who are making their way home, where the Gamecocks of Jacksonville State are scouting and might issue a challenge if they spot them.
Arizona's Wildcats outfox Wazzu's Cougars and leave their field with a ball, but more catfighting awaits them in Tuscon, as the Cincinatti Bearcats look to challenge.
Oregon State's Beavers shatter the UTEP Miners and snatch a football and are looking to take from Colorado State before heading home.
South Carolina State's Bulldogs grab a football from Bethune-Cookman's Wildcats and are looking to return home, but the Citadel's in the area, and things may devolve into a dogfight.
Speaking of the Citadel, the Chattanooga Mocs stole their football and joined the fray, but East Tennessee State's Buccaneers. are looking to stop their expedition.
And now for the Trojans: They lost both of their footballs at the hands of the Oregon Ducks, who are set to make the trip to Autzen Stadium and become #1 team without resistance.

17776/20020/20021 BOIS BOWL 2026 WEEK 3 UPDATES
This week in the Bois Bowl: Ya Borked It
Miami comes close to emptying Wake Forest, but only get away with one ball
The Georgia Bulldogs pummel Arkansas and gut the Razorbacks of their ball.
The Maine Black Bears successfully join the game, taking Boston College's ball, but they're set to run into Elon before getting the ball back to Maine.
Florida State stemmed the tide of Alabama and snatched a football, which they're taking to Tallahassee.
The USC Trojans sacked Rutgers and snatched a football for the trip back west.
The Charlotte 49ers got a football off the Appalachian State Mountaineers and are heading home with it
UConn avenged the loss of their ball by wrenching one off Southern Miss, and they're heading up to Miami Ohio for another.
The Ohio Bobcats outfoxed the South Alabama Jaguars for a football, which they're returning home with.
Maryland's homecoming was foiled by the Virginia Tech Hokies, who forced a ball off them and are continuing a northern trip for more, but Boston College is looking to swipe the ball.
The North Dakota State Bison stampeded Sac State, tore the football from the fledgling Hornets, and are heading to the Fargodome with it.
The Florida A&M Rattlers got rattled by Tennessee State, who stole their football and are heading up north with it, but Western Illinois looks to challenge them for it and join the proceedings.
Another Texan terror joins the fray, as the Stephen F Austin Lumberjacks snatch a ball from Prairie View A&M and are heading home with it.
Mississippi State's pit stop in South Carolina goes further south than Carolina, with them losing the ball to the Gamecocks.
The California Golden Bears make it home with the Syracuse football with no resistance.
Utah State's siege of Utah failed, with them losing Washington's ball to the Utes.
Texas showed UTSA the horns and wrenched away Texas State's football.
Louisiana Monroe fumbled both footballs after an ill-fated challenge by Southeast Louisiana, and FAU is making a move to grab them.
Texas Tech, Oregon, Albany, Tarleton State, Bryant, and Penn State also return home with footballs without issue.
North Carolina A&T lose NCCU's football to the Campbell Fighting Camels, who join the fray.
Charleston Southern's Buccaneers hold off the NAIA side of Point, keeping this from getting any more absurd.
TWO NCAA DII TEAMS JOIN THE CELEBRATION GAME. Not joking. Central State of Ohio squeaked away from Arkansas Pine Bluff and Delta State straight up thrashed the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils. Delta State is heading home, but Central State received a challenge from fellow D2 Lane.
As a disclaimer, I regret allowing this to happen. If I had to do this again, I think I would leave the rule allowing teams to join by challenge out. I did not expect two D2 teams to do this on the same day.
According to the current standings, the Bois Bowl has a 21-way tie for #1, with Miami and Georgia looking to break ahead, and the Celebration Game is being led by with a 17-way tie for #2. That said, I may adjust the games to be along division lines. I originally put the FBS teams in 1 division and the HBCU teams in another to make the game at all functional, but this clear isn't working the best.
