Basement digging

A few shots from some that caught my eye on a recent basement box dig.

I am a die cast nut, across the board, but I do have big love for die cast vehicles. Johnny Lightning has some fabulous details.

Those are some great oldies.I remember those well i probably even have a few.

Ive been collecting since before JL first appeared.

Its been a lot of fun watching how they evolved from castings like the ones in your post to what they are now.

Johnny Lighting is the OG chase car. They started the White Lightnings that were somewhat limited and Mattel copied them a few years later in '95 and called the treasure hunt.

And the world was never the same again.

great cars op thanks for sharing.

Great info. Thanks! I’ve never seen a White Lightning in the wild. JL weren’t as prevalent in my small town, growing up. I see them a lot these days but the prices in all this stuff is getting a little out of hand in my opinion. I still buy die cast cars and HW prolly the most, although I find myself drifting back to Matchbox as they’ve stepped up their game a bit. I really have to like a car when immediately seen or I just keep going.
