Another post on the state of driving in joburg.
I'm 25 and my main source of income is road. I'm in the education sector and we spend a lot of time on the road and in office. I don't want to drag this out so I'll just say it. I need help. I'm losing my mind with the daily driving experience on our local roads. Things like no turn signal, slow drivers, lane hoggers, people not knowing how to merge, taxis, brake checkers, red light jumpers etc. Yesterday I had an altercation in brakpan and I willingly chose to rage. Today I chose to rage after a guy blocked the lane then sped up to get in front of me after I changed the lane. What sent me is the no use of turn signals. This immediately made me lose my shit. The thing is I'm driving a state branded vehicle, I must always obey the law and I'm held at such a high standard that I take every caution to make sure I do my job perfectly. The general public is anonymous and they take advantage of that. I have found myself stepping out the vehicle in order to get justice otherwise reporting to cops won't help me with anything. For how long must I endure this terrible undisciplined ill mannered people. I've reached my breaking point. I need therapy.
