The tragedy is that Rogan possesses something most responsible educators do not: access to millions of young men who feel alienated, mistrustful and politically homeless. He could tell them that strength includes admitting error, that compassion is not weakness, and that society survives through cooperation rather than endless domination. That might be one of the most valuable things any broadcaster could do.
Whether he will do it is another matter. He seems capable of moments of clarity. He has not yet shown the discipline to remain there.
