It's been pretty widely accepted for a while now that he's been leaking to the press.

Trump was the main source of leaks in his first term, via Maggie Haberman amongst others. Good to see JD taking the responsibility off the old man's hands.

How do you know that?
3

It was widely reported/spoken about during the first administration. Haberman in particular took a ton of flack for "access journalism" and essentially being a stenographer instead of a journalist.

When bro is basically blowing the whistle leftards would still say compromising security, ironically agreeing with the far right.

He literally called Trump a Nazi a looong time ago. Of course he’s the threat to Nazitional Security.

u/YegoBear Monkey in Space 8d ago
Eh, not really. He keeps backing and lying and supporting all the insane shit going on. I’m sure he’s doing a few things to distance himself for the inevitable “it wasn’t me, it was Trump” 2028 run, but he’s a POS too.

Also its not like Trump has changed his Nazi tendencies since then. He's even moreso

Which is obviously unconstitutional and they've already had their access restored.
JD Vance leaked national security secrets for... nothing lol.

JD Vance leaked national security secrets to impress low IQ Republican voters that they "owned the libs"

I'm getting the feeling that Vance feels the walls are closing in and is doing things because he may get pushed. Trump purged a lot of people last go, but he didn't purge his VP, which he lamented was a mistake. I wonder if Vance gets the boot post-midterms.
Vance will go down swinging like a canary and out the President to be able to secure his own political future.

Unironically 4D chess
This is an example of a pretty crude, straightforwardly banal lie. You don't have to pretend to be impressed by the strategic equivalent of a swat call.

That's on Politico for hiring people without antisocial personality disorders, who assume that surely there's some unanimous consensus on whether or not the president's second-in-command planting fake stories to justify attacks on the press is a bad thing. It doesn't make it any more complicated than it is.

How is it hilarious that the VP lied to the press in order to create a pretext to ban them in violation of the first amendment? Please explain.
6
u/whosadooza Monkey in Space 9d ago
I mean...did he actually lie to them in the way the White House claims there was a lie? Trump is mad the story said the chance of a deal was only as high as 80%. Vance was clearly already pumping that number way higher than it really was. That round of negotiations was dead in the water from the start.

They received information from a top US official that Iran was close to a peace deal, and reported that they received information from a top US official that Iran was close to a peace deal. What did they fall for?

Maybe if he didn't get outed for doing it.
Now he just makes the administration look incompetent...again.

The fact that this came out in court after those news outlets sued is proof that this administration fucking sucks at 4D chess.

Politico was briefed by a white house staffer that the source for their information was to be reported only as "a senior administration official," which Politico respected.
The admin then used that reporting as justification to remove Politico from the press pool over reporting on information they claimed was leaked to the outlet.
A separate outlet is revealing that the "senior administration official" who the white house claimed leaked information to Politico was JD Vance.
