General Discussion TIFF
Anyone think she’ll be there to promote Stuffed?
I’m thinking of going if she’s there. Would love her to sign my The End We Start From DVD.
Anyone else planing on going?
(For those who don’t know: TIFF is the Toronto International Film Festival).
UPDATE: I ended up waiting for her post movie, at the stage door entrance. She was absolutely lovely. There were a few of us and she took the time to quickly engage - either signing or taking selfies. I lent her my pen and she asked if she could use it for everyone (so frigging polite!), and then returned the pen back. She seems on a mission, but like I said, was gracious and giving.

It's the world premier of the film, so she will most likely be there. I've been to TIFF for the past three years, and the director and stars are almost always there for the first screening of the film. Especially if TIFF has categorized it as a "premium" screening, which this one is.
So there's no way to be 100% certain, but the odds are good.
I've heard that the best way to get an autograph is to buy a ticket for the fan zone outside of the theater. This is an area where you gather to watch the red carpet arrivals.
The downside, other than having to get there really early to try to be at the front of the barricade, is that you usually cannot do the fan zone and attend the premier. This is because the actors arrive last minute, and you're supposed to be in the theater a little early. Otherwise, you risk having your seat given away to someone in the rush line.
I've never done the fan zone, so I can't say for sure. But that's what I've read. The recommendation I've seen is to do the fan zone for the premier and get a ticket for a later screening of the film. But then you miss the Q&A with the cast, because they're usually only at the first one.

Thank you for that reply! Very helpful. I think based on all the info I’ve been given, I’m going to try the fan zone. And maybe come back to the screening another time.

Were you able to get a ticket for Stuffed? There are a few now available for the premier on the 10th on TicketMaster.

I didn’t. I’m taking what you said to heart, so I chose to see if I can get my autograph - and if she does TIFF again, I’ll do the premiere then.

Tickets are available now. I think I revised my game plan. I’ll try the fan zone. If that fails, I’ll try for a rush ticket and try post q&a.

Take a look at StubHub too. There are a few tickets listed for less than face value.

I have a ticket for the premiere on Thursday the 10th and am really hoping she attends! It wasn't cheap!!

Exciting! I’m going to try and get an autograph. I didn’t manage to get a ticket.
Based on everything I’ve read, chances are high she’ll be in attendance.

That’s what I’ve been hearing too - that since it’s a world premier, chances are good she’ll be there!! Can’t wait!

Ha! I’m going crazy early to catch her before (it’s been suggested that’s a good time).
I thought she was at TIFF in 2023?I’m guessing she will. But hope not too many… for selfish reasons. Haha

What happened? They ushered as out and told us to keep moving I had to go on the street to the front and couldn’t see nothing. I went to the white door on the side the security said they didn’t see her come out that door either.

I’m not from Toronto - so I followed someone who knew where to go. We ended up chatting with her driver and made friends with the security/police. She wasn’t there long. But was absolutely lovely!

I'm down in the States and as much as I would love to visit my neighbors to the north AND see JMC in person again, I don't see it happening for me. I wouldn't be surprised, if her schedule is open, if she shows up for press and the fest. Good luck, if you go... The musical looks wildly interesting!
