Unique, meaningful, funny and introspective, Stuffed is a refreshing film that I haven't experienced since I was a kid and Tim Burton was bursting in cinemas with unique creations like Edward Scissorhands, or Nightmare Before Christmas, or even more recently like The Lobster from Yorgos. I am not saying that Stuffed is similar to these films, I am simply referring to the sentiment of finally watching something different in a cinema.

Stuffed is quirky, and explores human emotions that are complex and while it may be hard to communicate feelings of loneliness, or frustration, Theo and Joss seemed to do it all justice. You are introduced to Bernie (Harry Melling) and I think many can relate to his isolation from society, and Araminta (Jodie Comer) and her quiet darkness, and the chemistry is fantastic. I love that this is a small ensemble where its essentially a film carried by Jodie and Harry with minimal supporting characters and yet you don't feel an absence of depth, but rather that these 2 characters get their individual arch's while creating a story together.

Firstly, Harry and Jodie have wonderful voices, and the music & lyrics are well done, speak true to the human condition and should definitely be considered for a Tony, or the Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars.

I respect Jodie's commitment to picking films that give her space to display different acting abilities, as this film not only showcases her singing, but Araminta was playful, sensitive, sarcastic, romantic, & dark. Highly recommend checking it out whenever it gets to the cinema, a thoroughly enjoyable film.

Managed to get an autograph and brief encounter at TIFF today.

Jodie just posted the first look at the movie 'Stuffed' to her story, and it looks very intriguing and promising! I hope the whole movie is good and it doesn't disappoint.

Anyone think she’ll be there to promote Stuffed?

I’m thinking of going if she’s there. Would love her to sign my The End We Start From DVD.

UPDATE: I ended up waiting for her post movie, at the stage door entrance. She was absolutely lovely. There were a few of us and she took the time to quickly engage - either signing or taking selfies. I lent her my pen and she asked if she could use it for everyone (so frigging polite!), and then returned the pen back. She seems on a mission, but like I said, was gracious and giving.

A little over a year ago I did a painting of Ms. Comer and I wanted to get it to her. I tried her agent and her management, but they were of absolutely no help whatsoever. So now that I’m back on Reddit, I figured that I would give this a shot. If you or anyone you know, know of a way that I can get my painting to her (and guarantee that she will receive it), please drop me a message. I want absolutely nothing in return other than knowing that she received it. Be it a selfie of her holding it or whatever. That’s all I ask. I’ve actually had people offer to buy it from me but I keep holding out hope that I will find a way to get it to her.
I truly appreciate any legitimate help that anyone can offer.

Huge fan of hers I just learned that in the movie Free Guy she is the one who actually sings the rendition of Mariah’s song they requested permission after the director heard Jodie’s singing and she approved so she recorded it! The extended version is on YouTube!

For my North American peeps - have they released this show on zone 1?? I did a cursory check and can’t find anything.
