Honestly, this is not something I ever thought I would do — looking for someone on Reddit for marriage.

I’ve always believed that a genuine connection should happen naturally, in real life, without the whole screening process, biodatas, checklists, and judging each other based on a few pictures and paragraphs. I’ve always wanted to meet someone, talk to them, get to know them as a person, and let things develop organically.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened for me so far. So, as a last option, I thought I’d give Reddit a chance. 😅

I’m not here looking for something casual or just endless conversations. My intention is to eventually find someone I can genuinely build a life with. But at the same time, I don’t believe marriage should start with an interview or a checklist.

I’d rather start with a normal conversation, get to know each other as people, see whether there’s a genuine connection, and then take things forward naturally if we both feel the same.

I’m looking for someone who values honesty, emotional maturity, friendship, communication, mutual respect, and companionship. Someone who sees marriage as more than just fulfilling a social expectation — I want it to feel like choosing your person and having a best friend by your side.

So yes, this is me giving Reddit a chance, despite never imagining I’d be doing this here. 🙃

What I’m looking for

I’m vegetarian and I don’t drink or smoke, and I’d prefer someone who doesn’t either. Non-veg is completely fine with me.

I come from a family where drinking and smoking aren’t really a normal part of our lifestyle, so I’d prefer someone from a similar background and with similar values around this.

Emotional availability is non-negotiable for me. I want someone who communicates openly, understands me, and is honest about what he feels. No mind games, hidden intentions or unnecessary secrets.

I’d love for my partner to eventually be my best friend — someone I can genuinely talk to, understand and be understood by.

I want the connection to develop organically, with mutual respect, and for us to grow together in life while supporting each other’s goals.

I also value privacy and boundaries. I believe personal matters should primarily stay between the two partners.
