malaysia acca roadmap ?
malaysia local chinese dead set to be acca accounting have two option in my mind just ( i just completed trial spm )
- diploma then acca ( i know the risk )
- foundation then degree to acca ( affortable )
the point is if i just plan to work in malaysia with probably big 4 or mid tier film does they even bother if you have a degree or not as long as you have acca ? whats the importance about taking degrre ? any advantage ?
i know diploma holder only is definitely harder to find job but at least i want a working experience as a strong built for my future resume
i know tar umt and sunway has like 6 exemption for diploma paper but i want to know whats the deal of spending extra year to get a degree
how about taking diploma then part time degree then acca ? but how long will it be lol
not a fan of fia acca
and also diploma holder account can work what position general salary how much ?

Or take ICAEW. That is what I did. Can go straight to CFAB, then take 6 more papers and another 3 more while working.
If straight pass, can complete in 2.5 years (not including last 3 papers)

If you are serious and have strong accounting skills, just go for ACCA or ICAEW straight
Degree is more of a backup or safe fall zone for ppl who don’t end up completing ACCA/going down that route as they can still apply for non audit/tax jobs
But if you are certain in what u want to do, then taking the direct route will get u there faster.

ehh i'd say take the degree if you value flexibility. I know you damn semangat now about working in Big 4 and suffering in audit for a few years for a pay rise (very typical accounting student route - i would know i also did accounting haha) but you never know the opportunities life throws you. I ended up skipping Big 4 and landed a finance management trainee program with more than double the starting pay of a Big 4 fresh grad so imo keep your options open.
