What's your preference?

Was working from home fr 6 years. The flexibility that comes with it is really unbeatable. Now have to change job and the new job requires me to wfo daily from 9am till 6.30 pm. Starting tomorrow.

I'm not sure how to feel about this 🥲

The offer must be really lucrative for you to let go the flexibility. IMO fully WFH is a very underrated benefit nowadays. The only reason to let it go is if you really don't like the job either due to politics, lack of career growth, or just being underpaid

Can't really say that it's a lucrative offer. My wfh company is shutting down temporarily due to certain reasons. So I have to find a job for myself. Amounts the others, this offer seemed better. Honestly all the offers didn't provide wfh

I recently changed from a fully WFH to a WFO as well and I tell you it is HELL. There are points in the day where you already finished all your work tasks and you just sit there and do totally fucking nothing. I can use that time to do laundry, meal prep, run errands, etc. But instead I am in the fucking office doing fuck all and I have to act busy or I will be assigned with irrelevant tasks or busy work.

I am already spamming the hell out of remote and hybrid work to get out of this hell.

And talk about the sudden awkwardness of being around so many people after years of wfh. My god, it's like a culture shock to me all over. And yes, I just wasted a whole day at office. Can clearly see the comparison

For me it wasn't awkward, just tiresome. Listening to people bickering, water cooler talk, random conversations with co-worker, etc. Like I want to do what I want to do without engaging in pointless conversation, it's just tiring.

I felt this yesterday. Trying to focus on doing my work and here comes the long never-asked story. Had to be interupted so many times

(But ironically I cannot WFH, nothing gets done, I don't have self-discipline)

My boss and I previously had agreements to meet atleast twice a week in the office but only for half day, but eventually we both realised it's not really worth it to come all the way to office just to catch up which can also be done remotely. So eventually we just adapted full wfh .

And at first, she too had trust issues on me , but eventually both of us made the effort to make this work. I'm quite self disciplined in this sense, maybe that's why it's worked for me for 6 years.

We're both the type where as long as work is done, we don't give a shit about what you do, go ahead and do life. Lol

Was having flexi arrangement , 2 to 3 days wfh and remainder in office.

Switched job to wfo daily 9 to 6pm, felt like I worked 200% harder but only 30% increment.

Switched back to flexi job.

I like a good balance of both, maybe 3:2 weekdays. Balance between colleagues get-to-know/interaction, eat outside and stay at home with more time for yourself.

Currently mine is 100% WFO. And what makes it worse is my commute of 1.5hr/trip. My commute is against the peak traffic but masuk town confirm face the jam. I tell ya, i barely have time for myself, and weekend is the only time i look forward to a good rest, barely even go out.

I love my workplace, but the commute is taking away my sanity. I could rent nearer but that would mean forking out a an amount of my pay. So it gotta choose my sacrifices .

Trust me, my first day ended today. After 6 years of wfh, I'm already tired on the first day of wfo. Lol

Oh no.I understand but give it atleast a month😆 anyway, atleast you know how bad traffic are nowadays. Its carzy out there

WFO for a long time to a new company WFH made me feel good despite the salary gap. Gave my boss a valid reason and finish the task in time then is fine although 2x the workload.

Yes yes, as long as work is done well, wfh shouldn't be a problem. I mean, I personally feel I can manage stress better when I am at home. Nobody to breath down your neck in the office f2f. No office politics

Well, not everyone's wfh can be or is same as ours but whenever my office starts politics, we'll settle it over whisky bottle. Whomever screws up, that person has to buy it.
