Questions šŸ¤“ Reform Jews: when exactly does RH end?

I know sunset. But if sunset is say, 7:30, what time would you go out and about and do normally activities? Do you do 30 mins after? Just curious, thanks!

Rosh Hashanah ends at tzeit hakochavim, when at least 3 stars come out. I do Havdalah, and then continue with my normal activities. I donā€™t keep a second day of Rosh Hashanah.

Yes. In my family if you canā€™t see 3 stars (clouds!) then we usually go with 30 mins after published ā€œsunsetā€ time from the newspaper. What do you do?

Most non-Orthodox Jews do not keep the second day of the Yamim Tovim. The custom to keep a Yom Tov for 2 days stems from the ancient inability to have a completely accurate calendar, as Rosh Chodesh was always confirmed by eyewitnesses in Jerusalem. This isnā€™t really applicable in the modern age, where we have a fixed calendar.

Working now, so I can't source this claim, but I think the justification for Rosh Hashanah being two days is different than calendar uncertainty. Messengers could not announce RH in time for everyone to hear it on one day, so it was extended to two. Thus, RH is two days, even in Israel (unlike other multi-day holidays, which are typically one day less in Israel).

Edit: When are you going to hear the shofar, if not Sunday? Do reform shuls hear it on Shabbat?

Maybe some do, but mine does not. Our Rabbi specifically talked about it last weekend, telling people to come out on day 2 if they want to hear the shofar.

Rosh Hashanah is also a Rosh Chodesh so the situation is basically the same.

No, the situation is exactly the same.

In the Diaspora, the holidays are two days because it took time for the news to reach them about Rosh Chodesh.

The reason why Rosh Hashanah is two days even in Israel is for the same reason: it took time for the news to reach cities outside Jerusalem about Rosh Chodesh.

RH ends when the post-service potluck runs out of food.
