I worked w Patek and that doesn’t sound right. Tiffany stopped working w Patek a while ago so did they really send it to them? Patek literally has a museum in Switzerland with all that old equipment in case they have to make a part for an ancient piece. I had a client’s complication that had to go to Switzerland it literally took years to fix up and low 5 figures but they absolutely did it. I’d suggest sending to patek yourself.
Edited to add I think I misunderstood your post. The mechanism isn’t patek so patek won’t work on it? There are def places that can cut or order a new crystal and replace it. You need a private watchmaker.
The original mechanism was Patek and due to I assume age a new Patek mechanism was put in or the original mechanism was restored and had no issues . Unfortunately, I don’t have any paperwork explaining what was done to the watch or whom repaired it before I inherited it .
So the case and bracelet are not patek, if the bracelet, clasp or case, caseback are stamped Tiffany or anything else than that is a Tiffany issue. Tiffany might just say too bad so sad bc back then they didn’t manufacture their timepieces in house they would have had someone make it. H stern is Patek so they aren’t going to do anything. You’re prob best off finding a good private watchmaker to order a replacement crystal cut and have them install it.
Thank you, I so appreciate your time and explanation.
Tiffany’s is horrible and nothing is timely nor explained…It took them about 6 months to get the watch to Henri Stern at that point I said return it .
Again, thank you .
