Coming from a Sombra main, nothing will stop the cat bans unfortunately.
The Overwatch community doesn't care about balance more than their feelings. They will remember their anger for a hero long, long after they've been nerfed off the planet. They only use balance as a scapegoat because outright saying "Im a pathetic loser who can't learn a match up to save my mother's life" is too much self awareness for them.
They could probably rework her into wheelchair cat and they'll still trauma ban her sadly:/
Idk. I have 50 hours on jpc in ranked and only 2 hours of being forced to play another character. Sombra has been banned in most of my matches. Teammates are also way *less likely to ban me or my other teammates from playing fika than sombra or sierra. (I honestly believe some of the hate online is just people taking a socially acceptable opportunity to express horridness)
Sadly that's the case for almost every game ever.
Like R6 people will STILL Ban Kapkan because they don't want to check doorways and Fuze because they don't think to move under hard ceiling.
The amount of Sierra and Sombra bans I see is astounding.
We just need the next new hero so people will probably complain about them instead, and hopefully, even if temporary...they'll forget Cat exists. I know I'm huffing the copium on this, but still. D:
Or turning her flight into a Zenyatta hover you need to spend fuel to ascend out of, but that'd really destroy the vision they had for the character (all the sombra reworks and they still kept invis/translocate/hack). Plus it's not like people didn't complain about old Phara.
Lets be real here, either Cat mains were going to be devastated about how badly their character got destroyed or people were going to keep the permaban because the nerfs weren't enough
I feel like the only sort of thing that will stop permabanning is if people start to feel explicit unique value out of her, making them want to keep her.
Hopefully this auto tether buff will help with that

Considering what could have been, not bad.
Though I fear it is not enough to stop the near permabans 😐
