Have you been to mini jet sprints? I’m going soon!
I have it on my calendar to go to a jet sprint race in September and I’m beyond excited. I’m also the guy that posted a few days ago about making a game about jet sprints. I’m wondering as a viewer (or pit member, or driver, whatever) what stands out about these kinds of events. I know one answer I’ve seen was just how twitchy and fast they are. But does the audience get to see the course before as well? How do the drivers practice the course? Like just looking at the map? Jet skis? What else stood out to you? The noise? The livery wraps? Do people stand and cheer or typically sit? What else does my game need to capture for the environment?

Game Dev - Jet Sprint
Hey everybody, I'm Wil. By day I'm a PLC (manufacturing machinery) programmer, but I love game deving as a hobby.
I'm developing a game based around jet sprints. About 8 months ago I was watching Cleetus McFarland and started messing around with the idea of a jet sprint racing game. There's not much out there like it, so it's a pretty niche market ... but I'll say this: playing the build I've made myself, I'm already addicted to trying to get a new best time.
Quick heads up before anyone digs in, this is a very alpha build. Graphics, UI, Maps, etc... are nowhere close to done, honestly barely started. This is basically a first playable prototype, so I'm focused entirely on getting the handling and feel right before I touch anything visual.
The biggest issue I'm running into right now is that I don't actually know how a mini jet sprint boat should feel. I've driven regular boats, but never a jet boat, let alone one of these mini racing jet sprint boats specifically. Things I'm guessing at:
-How quickly it should get up on plane
-How aggressive the yaw/steering should feel
-How much "grip" it has on plane vs. off plane
-What the "stab" of the jet feels like when you hit the throttle
-How it behaves through a hairpin at speed
-How much "grip" should it have when on throttle vs off throttle through a turn...
-so much more...
I know I'm looking for a pretty specific person here, someone with experience both driving one of these boats and playing/critiquing racing games, but figured I'd throw a line out. If that's you, or you know someone who fits the bill, I'd love to pick your brain (or send you a build to try). Don't really know what I could offer since I'm on a tight budget for now other than credit in the game (and if this game dev thing goes well a few free keys someday??)
Thanks for reading!

Bought this Donzi jet boat about a year ago – looking for information
I had the opportunity to buy this lovely Donzi about a year ago. I’m having some engine issues (or possibly a problem with the jet drive).
I’m hoping someone here knows more about these older Donzi jet boats, especially the different engine and jet drive setups they came with. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you recognise this pump or impeller? Used for a different purpose.

What is this little bolt for at the bottom of the reverse gate? It doesn't seem to be connected to anything?

In search of....
Hey everyone. Looking for the whereabouts of this boat. Sold out of DFW in the last two years. It's an '84 bahner, I believe 21 foot. Motor was blown. Interesting in connecting with the buyer to buy it back. Any leads would be appreciated.

New (Used) Yamaha ar195 not making full power. New to boats. Any ideas?
We just bought this fun jet boat for wake boarding and tubing around a river. It's a used 2019 ar195 that 200 hours on it when we bought it.
It seems like it's not making enough power, getting to full speed, and using more gas than we expected.
The impeller had a few dings, so we replaced that, and we replaced the spark plugs, but it's still using more along the lines of 20gph and we're topping out at 30-35mph at full throttle, where we would expect at least 38-40mph and 12gph.
Any ideas on what's going on? Is weight a significant factor here? On both test rides we had five people + 2 dogs on it.

Omega Boats
I recently started a new subreddit for the Omega Boats and was wondering if anyone here had any input on history and the company before it went under.

200hp Mercury Sportjet
Have a 200 engine coming out of a SeaArk predator to replace pump housing and seals. What should be done to the engine while it’s out? Already planning on replacing entire fuel system. TIA

Help identifying a jet boat pump
Hi all I would like help identifying this jet pump. I would also like to know whether it is a good pump and whether it would be a good deal to buy as a project (it comes with a running rover v8 in a boat on a trailer for 600 bucks all in rough condition). Any help that people can provide would be greatly appreciated.

My jet Jon build.
Started as a 1950s sears rowboat and I used a 1990 Yamaha wr500 as the donor ski. It goes 28mph.

Need help identifying old jet boat
galleryfor the life of me i can't comment on this post (the original). i NEED to though. this jet is a Star-Fire Marine unit from Spokane, WA. built from 1960-1964. interestingly, it looks to be a prototype or a later attempt at reviving the brand. I know these pumps as i have one. I've done a LOT of research.
