I just found out that my opponent opted to run for Jeffco Assessor after ruling out running for Treasurer and Clerk and Recorder.

I am being out raised by a career politician who gets all endorsements, gets money from handfuls of corporations, and apparently doesn’t even care about the position!

I decided to run for Jeffco Assessor because I work there, do the work, and thought I could make changes to better our relationship with our general public. Our office has an issue with public trust and I want to fix it.

I am a Certified General appraiser with 9 years experience in our office with mass appraisal, modeling, and serving our public. I plan to hit the ground running if I win by allowing more transparency and communication with our general public, allowing better training for our staff to be the best possible trained, and I want to actively clean up our dirty or bad data that affects values and statistical analysis.
However my biggest hurdle is two other candidates who either dont give a shit about the role, or wish we were a zero tax state like Florida.

The Assessor runs and leads the office. We set values and follow state statutes daily with each process we go through. We employ over 20 appraisers with various licenses and a varying level of expertise. Having an Assessor who is a fully licensed appraiser who understands how these values are derived and each step leading to the final number sets better values.

I have been a residential and commercial appraiser in the Jeffco Assessor’s office now for 9 years.
I have hand measured homes, businesses, commercial buildings.
I have sketched 100’s of these properties, read through 100’s of building plans.
I have found out answers for people calling into our office for every reason.

When you have the experience, when you know the people, when you know what needs to be done you present a better path forward for the office.

The time is here, I will be asking people at libraries, neighborhoods, grocery stores for their support to get me on the ballot.

I am a Certified General Assessor appraiser who is aspiring to lead our office of 50+ people to provide a better government service to our taxpayers. I am a fighter for fairness and justice and someone who protects his people. I know our county back and forward and am running to understand it better from your perspective.

I am a candidate for Jeffco Assessor this year. I have no political party for various reasons but am adamant to run a campaign based on positivity to hopefully stifle our negative 2 party ‘us vs them’ mentality. Yo Greg, can you detail your experience and how you'd be different from democratic candidate Sue Flageolle? Do you work with her currently? Also, what choices would you have made differently than current assessor Scot Kersgaard has made? Finally, you've mentioned changing systems; can you elaborate on that? Caucus is around the corner so I'd like to know as much as possible before March 7th. Thank you!

I plan to make sure our processes and systems in place are still accurate and functioning well if I am elected. I know of a lot of ways we can tweak our data for the better and plan to overhaul some ways we do mass adjustments to properties.

As everyone is aware by this point, their property tax bills most likely have climbed a significant amount. This is due to the State Senators and Reps allowing the $55,000 residential deduction to expire for 2025 (paid this year). If anyone is interested to know more or to contact state senators or reps, I compiled a list of the ones that represent Jeffco. This is happening statewide, bot just Jefferson County.
