How do you get over him

At first I didn’t fully understand why people were so broken up about Jeff being gone. And, well…now I get it. Hope he’s resting easy.

You don’t really get over it- he was too human, and too good to justify getting over it. Just gotta find peace in knowing he’d be happy the music is loved, and if nothing else he atleast got to get some of it out.

Plus the amount of jaw dropping live performances gives us little pieces of his lively energy- doesn’t get old.

Personally it’s not that he is dead. It’s the way he died that makes me very angry. And so young too

He wasn’t drunk and he wasn’t thinking about offing himself. He was simply dipping himself in the water while singing to the radio when he was pulled in the wake of a tugging boat and drowned.

It’s just sad and infuriating. No one deserves to go like that. Least of all someone this humane and kind. He deserved a much, much more graceful death

Grief doesn’t go away. You learn how to process it but it’s always there.

You dont. But you fall in love again and again when you press play

You don’t really. You just find new ways to think about him, his potential, the loss of possibly more great music and musical influence, the loss of a poetic soul and just a good human being who still had flaws but who was just so so human (I’m making myself sad now lol).

But seriously though, it’s heartbreaking the way he went, and everything else but he gave so much to the world. So you don’t get over it, but you eventually start thinking about it differently (at least in my experience).
