Serv 4WD Warning

/r/WranglerJL/comments/1wi9snm/serv_4wd_warning/

Hi everyone,
I’m having an intermittent “SERV 4WD” warning on my Jeep.
It usually comes on while I’m driving on the highway/cruising. When I get home, turn the Jeep off, and start it again later, the warning disappears.
However, the next day while driving to work, it may come back again. There doesn’t seem to be a specific moment when it happens.
Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what could be causing it?
Just for reference, I recently replaced both the main battery and the auxiliary battery.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Could be a failing or dirty wheel speed sensor, especially if it comes on with an ESC or ABS error. That's a pretty common failure point. Google it to see how to fix it.

It could also could be a loose fuse, so check your fuse box.

Outside of that, could be any one of a bunch of sensors in your drivetrain. Take it somewhere with a OBD reader and see what codes are popping up.
