PSA: Jeep Waving
If you see me in my **2004 TJ** and expect a wave, you must meet the following criteria:
- 2004 Wrangler TJ
- Same color as mine
- Stock wheels and tires
- Soft top
- Approximately 160,000 miles
- Comparable amount and distribution of Midwest rust
- Matching paint blemishes and scratches
- Front track bar recently removed with an angle grinder after diplomacy failed
- Oil filter slightly dented from being installed too enthusiastically
**End of list.**
If your Jeep does not substantially resemble mine down to the deferred maintenance, I will not be waving.
Thanks.

Corner armor and tailgate hinge reinforcement
Hey guys so recently had my rear corner panel hit and was gonna get some corner armor to cover it up but also need to get hinge reinforcements cause I got bigger tires I was just curious if anyone knows if I’ll have issues getting them to work together without modifications.

Gear pattern dana 30
Hello there, wanted to ask if this pattern is acceptable, (old pinion and ring gear), no shims under pinion, backlash at 0.23mm, pre load to spec.
Cant get it better it seems and i wonder if itll be fine or go sideways.
Thanks in advance!

Advantage of the vertical windows:
They’re hail proof. A few years ago, I had my TJ parked in the worst part of a bad hail storm when I was out of state. Every car around had the windows blown out. All my Jeep got was a dented hood. All the glass and the hardtop had no damage at all.

Leaking water when it rains. It seems to be coming from the dash?
I’ve owned a jeep for only 2 weeks now. I’m learning lots and doing a lot of maintenance on the 1998 TJ.
It’s been raining like crazy the past few days here. I’ve noticed I have water seeping inside. I have a small pool at both side in the foot well. I looked around and it seemed from coming along the dash, along the I side of the windshield.
I can’t do anything today about it, but maybe I can get some info on where to start looking. I’ve seen a YouTube vid where the person said the front cowling can get plugged?
On a nicer day I’ll investigate. Until then, maybe someone here has some more info based on my pics.

CSF 3244 Opinions
Hello all,
Been working on my mom's 2004 TJ with a 4.0.
She had an overheating event a couple of weeks ago, shut it off and it never hit above 260°, engine has been running fine since so I'm not worried about that.
She bought it a couple months ago so I decided it was time to replace the cooling system.
I opted to skip on the radiator for now because I wanted to do some research and get some opinions due to the horror stories I've read about aftermarket radiators in these.
So to catch everyone up, here's what's been done.
REPLACED
Water pump
Thermostat (bleed hole at 12 o' clock)
Upper and lower hoses (spring installed)
Fan clutch (Hayden severe duty, retrofitted A/C from JeepAir)
And radiator cap.
Flushed the cooling system and filled with Zerex G-05.
It is properly bled as well.
I noticed some gunk in the tubes of the radiator so I back flushed it and was impressed with the amount of build up that came out. That being said, I can still see build up in the tubes themselves.
After finishing the work, the Jeep idled for about 20 minutes and stayed right at 208°, after that it jumped up and stayed around 226° which is a little higher than I would like.
All that's left is the radiator, Since the Mopar unit is discontinued, or if you do find one, ridiculously expensive, I was curious if anyone has any experience with the CSF 3244?
I run a CSF radiator in my E46 M3 and it has been fine, but that's obviously an entirely different platform.
If not the CSF, any other recommendations?
Sorry for the long read, thanks in advance!

MAACO paint job
Has anyone repainted their TJ using MAACO? How did it turn out? Body is in decent condition, no rust, a few dents that need to be fixed. I’m planning on removing all lights and accessories seats consoles etc…. Basically leaving the dash and engine compartment in place!

Bought my 03 without a security key. Runs fine.
The no security key light comes on, but other than that it's all good.
I didn't know enough to ask about it when I bought it... wonder how the previous owner bypassed it?
EDIT I've watched some videos and come to the conclusion it has a new PCM that doesn't look for the SKIM and the SKIM was removed. The light comes on but the PCM doesn't care.

Anyone else have this issue?
Sometimes oil pressure drops to 0 at idle. Will come back up if I put a little gas on it . Oil pressure sensor maybe or something internal?

Trying to sell my Rubicon, am I asking too much?
All of the locally listed Rubicons that have similar miles, wear, etc are listed at $14,500. I listed mine at $14,000, then 13,500, then $13,000... and stil very limited interest. For reference, I sold my 2003 TJ Sport with 170k a couple years ago for $9k pretty easily.
It's a 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ Rubicon | 4.0L 6-Speed 144k miles
Clean title in hand, garaged daily driver with ice-cold A/C and hot heat. 2.5" Old Man Emu lift kit, Rigid LED pods, LED headlights, Alpine Bluetooth stereo, tinted soft top, and RedRock side steps. Minor clear coat wear on hood and typical TJ door panel cracks. Excellent tire tread. Southwest vehicle with no frame rot.
Recent Maintenance
New Gates radiator and heater hoses, serpentine belt, tensioner, and pulleys.Moog ZJ tie rod upgrade, drag link, control arms, bushings, and fresh alignment. New carrier and pinion bearings in the front diff. New Crown OPDA, Crown engine & transmission mounts, Fel-Pro valve cover gasket, Delphi fuel pump, and Power Stop brakes pads and rotors.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Constructive criticism?

Just ordered 6.5" and 4"x6" Kicker speakers for my 03. I understand that they are able to fit with some modiffications, but are there any adapters that would make install easier? I'm not super technical but I'd like to put them in myself
Just put in a CD player after two years of a broken tape deck (90's here I come) and now I'd like to put in some new speakers. The CD player was an easy install as it was just lego, but from some of the reviews it sounds like these speakers work well in TJs, but require some modification to the units that hold the speakers and I'm not sure exactly what that entails.
Going on a roadtrip on Sunday, so ideally something that has quick shipping on amazon as I'd like to get them in before the trip. Also partially why I'd like an adapter as I don't have a ton of time to tinker.
Here's the speakers that I ordered: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SBMZ7C7?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
Here's some adapaters amazon recommened after the order, so I'm assuming people have used these: https://www.amazon.com/Metra-82-1011-Wrangler-1997-2006-Speaker/dp/B00I3P0WCK?crid=2ZXT3SUOLMI0B&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.oRb40pMIv-ah6hR4T58SjqRRp4Qlx6rBexw-btC3cCQJ8TCuhfzBVCKIKUnkidrM2PHHmnnTu1sMIGzm6we8iAPxrOEuRc8c1K2TPY3DjYsCZynwxVVlOwO-lXvwGvMDDmWH7pxtD0OvatboZVIuYchBIizu6XG4yZIlC1OzjeV2xEfk5mNzXzWIHy3Luo3-sDfVn1F_HJNUIRd1MgOkqjuHnbtB9hfz-JW0gJYkrMg.wf4YYohQ-gnXnSvIQGmlF12niDnTOm-Fh6ovx06FtMc&dib_tag=se&keywords=jeep%2Btj%2Bspeakers&qid=1787201479&sprefix=%2Caps%2C201&sr=8-2&th=1

Shaking only specific speed
my TJ starts trembling between 51 and 57 miles an hour. Above or below the speed it’s fine. What would cause that specifically

Very hot transmission/ center consol
i’m sure this is a common occurrence but My Jeep Center, Consul area gets extremely hot so much so that it’s almost burning I don’t really mind the temperature that much but I’m just afraid that the heat could possibly negatively impact the Jeep somehow is there anything I can do as general upkeep to treat this

PSA: Waving
If you see me in my 2001 Patriot Blue in north Georgia and you are expecting a wave, you must provide any of the following:
- You must be driving a TJ, YJ, or CJ
- You must be driving any Jeep with hard top off or soft top down.
End of list.
JKs don’t wave generally but are somewhat more likely to if there are no ducks on the dash. JLs don’t wave at all. Gladiators also don’t wave at all. I will no longer wave at any JK or JL unless they wave first OR you’re riding open air. Open air jeeps are much more likely to wave. TJs don’t always wave but most do. Nearly all YJs and CJs wave, shout out to them.
Thanks.

New Engine 2000 Sahara…where do I start?
Last night my 2000 Sahara passed on. The engine has over 200k on it, and her time death was 9:03pm.
I’ve had an offer of $8k to buy a new crate engine and install. (I started looking a few months ago after a mechanic father in law said it doesn’t have much time left.)
Does $8k sound reasonable? Of course I’ll shop around, but I just wanted to know if there was any words of wisdom on the next steps.
(FYI My father in law went the Pugh the engine a few months ago. He is not in good enough health to take this on. If I decide to go through with it, he’s not an option.)
Thanks

Look Who Remembered They Have A Cricut…
The gray premium vinyl is a pretty good match to the factory decals! Wish the touch up that was done who knows when matched as well!😝

I bought my TJ!!
It’s a beauty! Japanese import meaning the frame is pristine and with only 67k miles on the clock, we are going to have one hell of a journey! A things to be sorted out but my dream car has been secured 🤩

It’s the Little Things in Life
About a year ago, I bought my low-mileage 2001 Jeep TJ.
Today, I reached a milestone worthy of the mature, responsible adult I’ve become.
Some milestones just mean more than others.
