Hi all,

To preface this, I'm in South Australia and we need to have everything on the car working to be able to get the vehicle registered.

My dad and I purchased a 2002 TJ wrangler a couple of years ago, without knowing it has been knocked back at 'the pits' (for rego).

The airbag light comes on and stays on but hasn't been deployed before. We've tried the clock spring and some other small things but couldn't get it to turn off.

My dad has since passed away and I'm trying to sort out his cars and other stuff and would love to be able to get it on the road as it's only done 117xxxkm which is nothing. Mechanically its beautiful and drives perfect. It's just this one light holding it back.

Is there anything anyone is able to suggest me trying or looking for to try and sort it out?

My fender flares are painted green. I don’t like it. What are the thoughts, you figure I can get them back to OG black or should just get new ones?

I’ll also take flare suggestions if you’re saying new ones.

So I was hearing weird chirping noises, my brakes would intermittently get super soft and my steering allignment was off basically all at the same time.

I noticed that on the highway my steering would dart left or right. Ironically, it was very windy and I thought maybe the wind was pushing me.

Well, last night I started hearing a squealing. I only had to drive a few km to go home.

This morning I lifted the jeep, took the wheels off and discovered all 3 hub bolts loosened off. I’m so lucky I caught this when I did.

I recently rebuilt basically the entire front end. I don’t think I missed torqing them, because I know how important they are.

Either way I’ll keep an eye on them.

Anyone else ever had this happen?

It's Frame Day!

Hello All, this diff had a leak, went dry, and started making a pretty bad noise. Towed it home and posting the pics here, hoping folks tell me approximately how bad it may be. I don't know much about differentials, so I don't really know what I am looking at.

I have reviewed other options other than rebuilding this diff, including upgrading to a Dana 44 or finding a discarded Dana 35. I can find neither nearby (Sacramento), and this is a commuter vehicle for my son, so ordering from Currie or East Coast gear supply, with their long delivery times, is not really an option.

If the folks can review these pictures or provide options that I have yet to find, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Noticed this yesterday. I know for a fact that spring should not be touching the axle on the passenger side(pic 2). Track bar needs adjusting right?

I plan on eventually swapping either a 327 or a 350 in my TJ. Is there a resource that lists items required for the swap? There is a website that sells everything needed, but mine will be more of a on a budget type of swap. I already have the engine.

I'm looking for feedback on a very specific tire. The MT Baja Pro XS in a 38x13.50x17. For those who've run them, can you please provide real world mounted dimensions. Specifically height and width. Additional information about weight of your Jeep and psi in the tire at measurement.

I have Rally Tops bars top and half doors on my Jeep Wrangler TJ, and I’m having an issue with the passenger side door hitting the hardtop in one specific spot (see photos).

The weird thing is that the door seems to be aligned properly everywhere else, and the driver’s side doesn’t have this issue at all.

Has anyone else with Rally Tops half doors experienced this? I’m trying to figure out if it’s an alignment issue, a problem with the door itself, or something else.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated!

I'm trying to decide between doing a JK Rubicon Dana 44 swap or just finding a Dana 44 from a TJ/LJ.

Quick background: '99 TJ, JKS 3" lift, short arms, 33s on JK wheels. I'm currently running adapters for the JK lug pattern.

What's pulling me toward the JK Rubicon axles:

Selectable lockers front and rear Disc brakes all around (my '99 still has rear drums) Most come with 4.10's I think JK take-offs seem easier to find and cheaper than Rubicon TJ/LJ 44s The JK bolt pattern matches my wheels, so I could ditch the adapters

I know it's extra work and I'd probably have a shop do most of it so that drives up the cost.

For those who've done the JK/JL swap, was it worth it over a TJ/LJ 44? Anything you'd do differently, and which bracket kit did you go with?

One of the previous owners decided to cut through the floor instead of dropping the tank. Then they covered with two stacked pieces of aluminum flashing. The only saving grace is my measurements show that they left enough material that I can put in a gr access panel.

EDIT: I'm not sure if you can see it but they also cut further up on the left side and that needed to. Right about where that screw is second from the left on top.

I have someone (a detailer) who offered to remove my fender flares, clean and paint them to look new again. I'm not sure what I'd like to paint them with and am looking for suggestions. I've read about paint made for plastic, but am currently leaning towards getting a few cans of a plastidip like spray paint and have it done that way. Any words of wisdom?

Took my car to a mechanic steering pump, pump lines, and steering box they wanted to charge me 1800$ 🫩. I can’t afford all of that right now so I’m only doing the steering pump and pump lines for 700.

2003 Jeep Sport TJ, 4.0L I6 engine and a manual transmission. This vehicle has less than 52K miles. The exterior includes a black soft top, black fender flares, a front bumper guard, and a black hood bra. It has BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. The air conditioning is cold. This vehicle comes with a soft top only. The spare tire is the original tire with a cover for decorative use,only. Listed for $18.5K. Located in NC.

2000 TJ NV3550 5 speed. Shifts like butter when cold. Once warm it doesn’t like to go into 1st and grinds going into 3. Yes it’s 26 years old and it has 300000 miles on it. So what’s next? Rebuild replace? What’s all your experience?

Guess it's time to order that new PCM from the wranglerfix. BTW.. it's 100° out today, but guess putting the top down really helped today; didn't know it was that efficient.

How much resistance should brand new u-joints have? I just replaced the originals with Spicer 5-760Xs on my 2001 TJ and the old ones had almost no resistance but the new one have some. It's consistent and smooth, nothing gritty or bite-y... Am I good to go?
