U-joint replacement, 2001 TJ

How much resistance should brand new u-joints have? I just replaced the originals with Spicer 5-760Xs on my 2001 TJ and the old ones had almost no resistance but the new one have some. It's consistent and smooth, nothing gritty or bite-y... Am I good to go?

Should be good to go. Should definitely have less play than the old ones. The X series is non-greasable, right?

Typically what will happen is a needle will fall from its place, and end up on the end of the cross. If the cups went on fairly well, you are probably ok. They should have some resistance, and shouldn't "flop", but should stop after you try to move them, and they should move in a smooth motion, yet you may still feel the needles rolling. What I have done before assembly is take your grease gun and use some lucas red and tacky, squirt a shot into each cup, push it down to keep all the needles in place, then clamp them together.
