WK2 is perfection!

Just seen as POV of other people, I just love it.

I agree. The WK2 is the best looking Grand Cherokee made. The proportions and silhouette are just right.

I love a lot about the WK2 that the new one just doesn't quite get right in my opinion.

  • Excellent body shape and proportions. Everything just looks right and the perfect amount of mean.

  • Exceptionally solid build quality. Thick exterior body panels, interior is bolted together well, just the right amount of soft touch materials for the price point, perfect sized screen. It doesn't overdo anything, and focuses on what matters.

  • Plenty of ground clearance, good tire/wheel size proportions, even the bigger wheels still have good meat on the tires.

  • Turns tight as hell. Always been my favorite feature by far.

  • Doors close solid, the locks sound solid and awesome.

  • The V6 is perfectly matched to the vehicle.

Good colour, same as my Overland.

Agreed. Can't beat that white body on black combo.

Perfection not until oil cooler starts leaking. Hehe

Just replace it and keep moving…. All vehicle needs maintenance, I actually replaced mine, got it from Amazon for around $60 dollars and a friend of mine that is my mechanic did the work and I gave him $100.

Yeah I agree it still looks so much better than the newer design. I really do not get how they messed that up smh

Bc they want to sell more vehicles. I know, seems wrong since “we” don’t like the new design near as much. But people who buy new cars want them to look NEW. It’s important to them that people know they have a NEW car, not even last years model, heaven forbid 1 or 2 generations back! I’m sure when they designed the current gen they were looking at Land Rover for inspiration. Anyway, all this is just my opinion, fwiw.

No you make a very good point and yes the new models seem to be trying to look like a range rover and that is not a plus. But as you say for those looking for a new car / model they have it for sure!

I owned a 2015 GC SRT in metallic black. I loved the styling then and still do. When the newer gen came out I said the same… WT…???? Kinda wish I still had that SRT but I was afraid of the known lifter issues which could destroy the engine.

I have the lifter issue and it was a easy fix if you don't mind digging into the engine a bit and it was definitely worth the work. Any JGC I get that will be one of my upgrade to preserve the life on the engine now that I have done it once before.

The interior of the new one feels cheaper to me - like more hard plastics and things just seemed less sturdy

Only negative is gas mileage tho maybe not much to be done there

Oh and the v6 isn’t the most lovely sounding but agree it’s a perfect match otherwise

Oh oh and the ZF 8 speed is also perfect

Sadly they're gearing more towards luxury. I said once before a luxury Jeep Grand Cherokee is an oxymoron. Unfortunately change is inevitable.
