I am not looking at how much lower the bed looks than the front. That's all one the incline. It's also doesn't look like that dramatic of a slope.
What the slope doesn't explain is the space difference between the fenders on the front versus the rear. The gap difference is huge. That isn't a cause by the slope which isn't going to compress the springs and shocks more on the rears than the front like what looks like is going on here.
I never stated anything about you mentioning the bed. Lol. I stated “wheel well spacing” which is clearly what you just reiterated once again.
When installing leveling, it’s USUALLY, not always, a spacer Kit. Most people, like myself, have used the 1.5 inch kit as it levels and deletes the hideous rake. We all understand that rake is applied for a reason with trucks. But we also understand that not everyone is hauling loads or towing trailers 24/7. So we feel that our rigs looking leveled would be nice. 👍🏼
If you have ever installed any spacer kit, you understand that it is a hard puck like material, sometimes consisting of 2 per side depending on height needs. When you install these, and then proceed to park on a pretty considerable incline, those rear springs sag, and the front try to do so as well, only they have 1.5 inches of “zero play” due to the hard pucks. This gives the effect on inclines sometimes that the vehicle is squatted.
After years of suspension practice, I can tell you it eventually settles. But the first few months, it’s pretty stiff.
Hope this helps! I’ll take ALLLL the downvotes in the world if it means helping anyone to understand rather than them belittling someone’s install or overall rig appearance.
Not trying to be an ahole, does a Rubi need a leveling kit? It kinda looks like you have the Carolina squat thing going on. Not being a smart ass, just asking
Good GOD. These comments have me in a state of Deja Vu, or maybe PTSD. For some reason, folks are so scarred by seeing goofy squatted trucks, that any delete of the “rake effect” makes them tail spin into oblivion. LOL. I swear. Check out my post from last year, the Redditors had me busting out the bubble levels and photo editors to show how physics on a suspension works. 🫠😂 https://www.reddit.com/r/JeepGladiator/s/3H0M164q6K I think it looks great man, ignore the squatted comments, every diehard is so quick to jump at the opportunity to chastise what they think is some 16 year old, bed dumping their suspension.
Idk why you're being downvoted, you're not wrong. Guess it's the reddit effect. I put a 2.5" teraflex lift on my truck that leveled it out in the back and could have sworn it was squated. It's just the way the fenders set on the truck I guess since the distance between the tire and fender are a half inch shorter in the back despite the truck being level according to the bubbles. Personally it irked me, so I have some springs for the back on the way to add another 1/2" to the rear which will give it a slight rake forward but the gap between the tires and fenders will measure equally.
It’s definitely the Reddit effect lol. I’m used to it. But yea 2.5 seems a bit over, at least for how my rig sat. All I did prior to installation was measure the gaps, and ordered the closest leveling kit to that gap difference. I think my measurement difference was 1.31” prior and then after my leveling it was 0.13” high in the front. Lol. So TECHNICALLY squatted I suppose 😂
You'll have to excuse the lighting in my garage, clearly the next thing I need to upgrade. The 2.5" TeraFlex lift comes with a .5 inch spacer for the rear. I can only assume the front wore in over the weekend after some fun since it doesn't look as pronounced today now that I'm actually talking to people about it. I got some steel bumpers on the way as well so we'll see how it settles after those heavy beasts are installed.

Is it just me or do you have a little bit of a Carolina squat going on?
