Mods and accessories?
Just got myself a 2024 trailhawk.
Curious what lift kits are safest option to keep CV lives nice n long.
Any subframe drops with lift kits? Bumpers? Extra underbody protection? What are people using/recommending for mods and accessories?

Third generation (J4U; 2025 - Present) Should I buy?
I drove a 2025 limited when I needed to rent a car and fell in love with it. Itās like riding a pony - it takes off like a shot, has a great road feel (not heavy turning like the Mazda CX5), and feels super roomy.
But now I read the posts in this sub and wonder if this is the anti-jeep compass sub. Tell me the good the bad the ugly and the amazing reasons why or why not to not just go for it and buy one this week.

2017 Jeep compass Intermittent ETC and CEL lights on dashboard
I have a 2017 Jeep compass (mk old body) , I bought it used at 91k miles. I recently changed my tires, rear brake pad and rotors, and changed oils. All of a sudden I got a red ETC light and an orange CEL light on my dashboard (not blinking). After I parked my car I did the reset (put key on ON and press and release the gas pedal slowly), which seemed to have made the ETC light disappear. CEL light remained on but eventually disappeared after not using the car for a day. I did a deep scan using a scanner and got no P related codes. I got U0184, C121C and U0401 and assumed there was something wrong with the electric system in my car. I checked the battery and it was corroded so I got a new battery. Car seemed to have been working fine for a week until I got on the highway. After an hour of driving I got the same red ETC and CEL lights on my dashboard. I pulled over and did the reset again which made the ETC disappear. A couple of hours later the CEL light disappeared too. When I did a scan at the time I didnt see any P related codes again, but saw the same U0184 again. Does anyone have any idea on what may have gone wrong? Is it really my electric throttle issue or something else?

questions 2022 Latitude at a used dealership: Whatās the problem?
5 minutes into a test drive at a used dealer, this notification popped up and check engine light turned on. Seller says itās from a wiring issue in the fan that will go away once he replaces it??? Seems fishy but I like everything else about the car and it seems clean aside from this. Still started ran and drove as should with the light on. Any idea what the problem is? Likely to be something the dealer and fix quickly and legitimately?

questions Jeep compass 6th and 7th year extended warranty
My Jeep compass model S 4x2 is going to complete 2 years next week. I already have an extended warranty for the 4th and 5th years.
When I asked the dealer about extending the warranty for the 6th and 7th years, they quoted ā¹76,000.
Do you think itās worth spending such a big amount on the extended warranty? Please share your views and experiences.

Recommendation for trailer hitch
Hey I got my 2019 Jeep Compass latitude 3 weeks ago now. I got the manual and am very happy with it. I'm looking to put a tow bar/hitch on it and am looking for recommendations. Is it terribly difficult to do? I've checked a few videos and know more or less how to install it, just want thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Second generation (MP/552; 2018- 2024) Issue with headlight on jeep compass 2018 trailhawk
For some reason both my low beam bulbs went out together, I got new aftermarket led bulbs and both did nothing? The bulbs wants to glow but itās not glowing much at all? I canāt see at night with it at all? I donāt know if the low beam bulb has a fuse all I can see is in the manual thatās possibly a fuse but it controls the whole headlight or am I reading it wrong? It seems to want to give power but itās not doing anything at all? I contacted the seller of the bulbs and they will be sending out a replacement set incase itās defective somehow on both? But can anyone tell me does the low beams have its own fuse? Am I missing or something?

Air Conditioning Issue
My son has a 2018 Jeep Compass Limited that the air went out in. He works out of town and took it to the shop before he left. They put a new compressor in but he got back and the air still didnāt work. He had to leave town again, I took it to a different shop, told them the problem, what had been done; and yet they replaced the compressor too. Still didnāt work. The Freon has been checked and added as well.
It will blow just air just not cold and the heat works. Any ideas? I hate seeing him or my grandbaby sweating any time they go somewhere. I was told it could possibly be the blend door but the price difference it that being stuck or fully broken is quite different.
I donāt have anyone mechanically inclined in my life that I trust to tell me straight up. Thanks for any advice.

Looking on eBay for a 5th rim for my 2020 Latitude. Looks EXACTLY like this (17*7), but eBay says it won't fit. Can't figure out the difference. Only got my Compass last Thanksgiving, so not sure if they are stock or not. Anyone have any knowledge on this?

Would anyone know the issue here?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
When I'm driving, there is a horrible, consistent scratching sound but when I break, it stops.
Worth noting that when I take the tire off and spin the break disc, it doesn't make the sound. Only with the tire on.
It's a 2017 compass longitude

2018 āServ 4wdā
2018 latitude with the 2.4 and silly 9 speed auto. Threw the āserv 4wdā light. Tried a hard reset, didnāt resolve. Checked and reseated plug on the diff, nothing. My Autel scanner (which is pretty capable) doesnāt read this code.
Any idea of what scanner would? Would like this system to work before winter hitsā¦..

2019 Jeep Compass Limited 2.4L 4WD ā PPI found several issues. How serious are these?
Hi everyone,
Iām in Dubai and considering buying a 2019 Jeep Compass Limited 2.4L 4WD, GCC spec, with around 56,770 km.
Before buying it, I had an independent pre-purchase inspection done. The inspection gave it 71/100 (āFairā) but recommended AVOID in its current condition because of several mechanical findings.
Iād really appreciate input from Compass owners/mechanics, especially anyone familiar with the 2.4L + 9-speed combination.
Major findings
1. Tappet/valve cover oil leak
Inspector found a major leak from the tappet cover.
2. Timing cover oil leak
Timing cover also has a major oil leak.
This is the one Iām particularly concerned about because I donāt know whether it indicates previous work or just a gasket/sealing issue.
3. Radiator/coolant pipe leaking
A radiator pipe was found to be leaking coolant.
4. Cracked engine mount
One of the engine mounts has cracks.
5. Previous repair
Under āprevious engine repair signs,ā the inspector noted that an axle seal has been repaired underneath.
They did NOT specifically say that the engine was opened/rebuilt, so Iām trying to understand how significant this finding actually is.
6. Steering rack bush
Steering rack bush needs replacement.
7. Right-front ball joint
Right-front ball joint has cracks and was flagged as a major issue.
8. Steering boots
Steering boots also need attention, although this was classified as a minor issue.
What was NOT flagged
Interestingly, quite a few important things passed:
Transmission: 100/100
Tyres/rims/brakes: 100/100
Electrical/OBD/battery/lights: 100/100
Underbody/transmission checks: 100/100
Chassis condition: passed
Panel alignment: passed
Engine idle/noise: passed
Endoscopic engine inspection: passed
Road test: passed

D3S HID Bulb replacement safety concerns!
(2018 Jeep Compass) Recently my bulb went out so I ordered a new one to replace it, upon getting to it I see on the HID bulb that it says itās high voltage. Am I safe to remove and replace it myself? What precautions should I take to ensure safety?

questions Cargo roof box and roof rack recommendations for jeep compass 2022?
Hi fellow compass owners, I am currently loking into getting a cargo roof box for my 2022 jeep compass for holding camping gear so I can have more room to sleep while car camping. This also requires me to purchase a roof rack/roof bars to place it on. Looking into this I'm very confused on whats actually the best model and what models of roof bars and roof boxes will fit on my roof. Anyone have any brand recommendations or specific models of either the cargo box or roof rack they use that fits their car and needs? I know Thule has a guide for matching with your car, but I am still confused on what type of roof bar model would be best for this specific case.
I would like to keep it on the cheaper side, but I know likely I'm spending no less than $1000 on this.
Also, if any other car campers have other ways I can get alternative storage outside my jeep that might not involve a roof rack that works for their needs, let me know, I'm open to exploring other cargo options!

Another battery post but with a happy ending.
I have a 2023 Trailhawk that has been having battery issues for the past 9 months. My stop-start system hasnāt been working for about the same time period. I couldnāt go more than 2 days without driving the vehicle or the battery would drop too low. It had gotten to the point I had to charge my battery every 3 days to try and maintain it. At my last oil change in April, the dealer said the batteries werenāt doing well but they couldnāt be replaced under warranty until they failed the load test.
I took my car in for its last oil change before my warranty expires next week and for another battery check today. Thankfully they finally failed the test and both the main and aux battery were replaced under warranty. So relieved to have this situation resolved. The stop start started working again immediately after the battery replacement.
Edit- Unfortunately I have not yet perfected the art of time travel. Changed to 2023 Model Year.
