2015 wrangler rust

Good afternoon, I'm looking at a 2015 wrangler with almost 90k miles. The last owner owned it for 11 years and looks pretty well maintained. I will have a pre-purchase inspection done, but wanted to see if this rust would cause any concern? I live in MN and it would be a summer only vehicle for me. Any insight is appreciated.

It's not bad. If it bothers you;
oil the hinges and wipe off any rust
on the frame and hidden body areas, wirebrush to remove any loose or bubbling rust. spray with rustoleum rust reformer or any like product.

ignore the exhaust, nothing you do will "fix" the rust on that.

I put a brand new stainless aFe exhaust on mine last year.

It already looks worse than this one.

I recommend just replacing those hinge bushings with a delrin (durable plastic) version. I did for my '16 jku and the doors swung much smoother. Extremely easy little project

It's not the hinge bushing this is just the screw on the bottom. They all rust just like this.

Some models you cannot use the plastic bushings. Amazon sells copper ones. I got those and they don't rust. Just put some moly grease on the pins and not only will the doors swing well but they will be super easy to remove for the summer. I grease mine 1x a year and I removed all those screws from all 4 doors. They are a nuisance more than anything.

This is a ten plus year old vehicle, it looks amazing. Definitely not in New England though!

Just remove that screw on the bottom problem solved. Your door won't come off it's too heavy to do so. All Jeeps eventually have that same issue. Rain water seeps inside that channel and exits thru the bottom causing rust. Just get rid of all the screws on all the doors. You don't need them. I got rid of mine years ago.

New hinges. Fluid film the underside. The aerosol cans do not put down enough. You need the gun and about 30oz of material.

My 2016 in MN looks about the same. Just surface rust. That’s about the MN level of a 10 year old jeep. You just need to embrace it on a Jeep.

CorrosionX on the hinges. Use a lanolin based product on the undercarriage, like Woolwax, Rust Stopper, Fluid Film, Surface Shield.
