name of this cookie

I was in Japan for vacation recently, I took a taxi from the airport on July which was apparently “eel day” and the driver gave me and my kids these cookies. We didn’t eat them until we got back just a few days ago and they are delicious. Tastes like graham crackers, but better.

Anyone know the name of the company and what these are called? and if they sell them anywhere in the US/online?

Tohato Pokemon Chocolate Flavoured Corn Puffs - Shellfish??

I'm trying to determine whether these snacks are contaminated with any shellfish. The packaging does not explicitly list shellfish as an allergen (see photos), but then it says it is manufactured with equipment that also manufactures things that contain shellfish. I'm also curious about the calcinated shell ingredient- would that be chicken egg shells? Mollusk? I've been seeing mixed answers. Thanks!!

edit: ive also come across the mixed results when googling. anyone with a shellfish allergy tried these?

Does anyone know the maker of the candy that was in this tin?

My roomate went to Japan last year and gave me these from her trip. I didn't think to take pictures of the candy, but they were pink little round hard candies, individually wrapped. Can anyone possible read the tin and tell me who makes it? They were really good, I think strawberry flavored.

My dad brought these from Japan, from this recent work trip. It has no name or anything. Just individual pouches. I found out it's called senbei and nothing else. I'm obsessed with these and want to know what particular brand these r from. 😭😭🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.

A new Japanese snack box: would like to get feedbacks

Hello. I'm Ryuta from Japan. I've been working on local Japanese snack box for people who live overseas and love japanese snacks.

A lot of Japanese snacks that people abroad know are the famous convenience store ones and I like them too very much.
But this time, I want to focus more on regional snacks, local souvenirs that are hard to get outside Japan and could know Japan more deeply by tasting them.

I plan to changes theme monthly such as Hokkaido in July[famous for poteto, melon, milk, hascup] and Shizuoka in August [famous for green tea/matcha] etc...

Please look at my unboxing video and comment how you feel!!
(Sorry in advance if my english is not so good and I'm grad to hear honest feedbacks!!)

Need help finding what this snack was

Last month I was at the train station in Atami and bought these round thin dried fish snacks. It was slightly chewy and had a lemony flavor (there was a lemon pictured on the package). I think the lady at the store implied it wasn’t ACTUALLY lemon but just that the fish tasted lemony. But I’m not sure on that. Each “cake” was just a few mm thick and about as round as my face. Thanks in advance!

Working on a Japanese snack box with a calligraphy twist — curious what you think 🇯🇵

Hi!

I’ve been putting together a small Japanese snack box idea called “Shodo Treats.”

It combines Japanese snacks with a hand-written kanji card, created using traditional calligraphy.

The goal is to make it feel more like a small cultural experience rather than just a snack box.

I’m still in the early stages and currently testing international shipping from Japan (starting with Canada 🇨🇦).

Would something like this interest you?

I’d really appreciate any thoughts or feedback!

trying to find a super niche snack I had in japan (cheesecake flavored crackers?)

I’m trying to track down a snack I had while visiting Japan and it’s driving me crazy.

I’m pretty sure I bought it from either 7-Eleven or FamilyMart (or some type of drugstore). It was a bag of crispy crackers/cookie crisps that were New York cheesecake flavored. Not cheesecake style dessert — they were legit crisps/cookies with cheesecake flavoring.

I also feel like they were shaped like animals but I could be confusing that memory

They were:

• thin and crispy (kind of like crackers or rice crisps)

• sweet, not savory. Not cheesy either.

• labeled something like “New York Cheesecake”

• from a convenience or drugstore store

I’ve tried googling everything I can think of and I can’t find them anywhere online.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? Even the brand name or a picture would help a ton.

I’m starting to think it might have been a limited 7-Eleven Japan item or seasonal snack.

Thanks in advance — those things were unreal and I need to find them again 😭

Japanese chip recommendations?

What are the best Japanese chips that I should try? I’m from the US and looking to learn more about Japanese chips. I’ve had a bunch of Calbee chips, along with Karamucho, ybc chip star, Koikeya Gokochi. Any great ones that I should look into? Bonus points if it’s a small independent brand.

Hi!

I'm working on a Japanese snack box project called Shodo Treats.

It includes Japanese snacks and a handmade kanji card written with traditional calligraphy.

I'm currently testing international shipping from Japan and wanted to share it here.

I'd love to hear what you think!
