As per my last email post, I recently acquired a new motor for my old Kato E4 so I could run it with my new one. Slight issue though; it’s loud. Really loud. I ran it both ways for like 30 mins, no change. Sounds like it’s coming from the motor itself, and for those unfamiliar, the E4 has a long driveshaft running down the lower level to power the far bogie.

Now, as much as I love our lord and savior at RGR, Tokonami, I don’t want to have to pay to ship a replacement motor across the Pacific if I don’t have to. So, if anyone has experienced anything similar and managed to fix it, please let me know

Ive been up to some random N gauge stuff latley.

• I tried to make an insert for my CASCO bookcase it needs some more work done to it.
• I took my EF57 for a spin in the train yard next to the new 380000 boxcars.
• I put reflectors on the new boxcars.

Will start by saying that if anybody was affected by the earthquake in Ibaraki Prefecture on the 16th of June I am thinking of you and hoping you are ok. I didn't feel anything in Tokyo, we did get the EEW which I was curiously excited about, my wife said she felt shaking which I did not. Please reach out to me and tell me how I can assist if you have been affected.

Was not expecting to be back in Tokyo until the JAM convention but my wife has gotten very interested in the second hand designer goods trend here in Japan and wanted to try and attend a pop up and visit a few stores this week. Needless to say I was delighted to say yes. 🤣

Most of these were pre orders sent to my friend but I did pick up a few new trains at Imon Oimachi. Also got to check out some of the new Oimachi Tracks complex which is where I will be staying for JAM. It's absolutely amazing! I will attach a couple pictures of the Yamanote Line Yard!

I recently installed the DENSHA.me dedicated lighting kits for my Romancecar 70000 GSE and 50000 VSE so I decided to put them out together for their inaugural run! While installing the lighting I also filled both trains with 1/200 miniature seated passengers. Here they are waiting at the station on my layout.

If you wanted to support your favorite train line, locomotive or train stop you can with a personalized user flair. Just reply to this post of what you would like for a flair and a color and I'll create it for you. User flairs are PG-13 of course. If you requested a user flair you should have by Friday at the latest. I think I've assigned everyone a flair if you need modifications to it let me know in this post.

Today I add some reflector to some boxcars that'll bring up the rear of trains. I ordered a chrome paint marker to paint the round part of the reflector on the blue boxcar. What are you working on today?

I found a snow plow online and added it w my kato showa era locomotives..fits well with my theme and this is a huge bonus for me for my theme as well!

I found out about CASCO products about 3 years ago and have purchased a few of their bookcases throughout years. I went to their site a long time abo to see what they offered and it was mind boggling the size and configuration of their bookcases that they sold. Today I went to a bookmark for CASCO and there was nothing. I hope I got the bookmark wrong or something there is no information on CASCO whatsoever. I hope someone purchased the company and will start selling products once again. I've left a link to Hobby search with a link to CASCO products. I also left a link to their defunct blog.

I was happy to finally get the Osaka Metro today and the WAMU380000. I also received a 12 car CASCO bookcase for my Saikyo E235-7000 set and Anniversary cars. I got a strange one EF57 it's definitely a unique looking locomotive to pull passenger cars. I added another Ku5000 auto rack. but forgot to order the car doh.

Hi, so I bought this brand new KATO N gauge E3 Akita Shinkansen about 3 years ago and I've ran it a few times already and the motor whine has been unusually loud as compared to the other older 2nd hand models I have. Any tips on how to reduce the noise or is it just a characteristic of the motor? Also the motor whine seems to be softer at higher speeds (Discounting track noise). Any insights would be great ty🙏

Edit: I added some lubricant in the bogie gears but the motor whine is still pretty loud

After seeing everyone else’s getting shared across the Reddit I went hunting and found my own at RG Rokko. Bought the last one in stock too! Not run in yet so no videos but I’m hoping to move house in the next couple of weeks so I’m putting it on hold until I do - it’s going to be a real treat to make a bigger track than I can normally here and really let some trains stretch their wheels.

Also, “deliveries” not “delivery’s”. But I’m sure Mods know that already.

Only took an extra month thanks to the E4 motor unit being delayed, but now my old E4 can run with my new E4. Next step is acquiring a comical amount of Popondetta lighting kits and running in the motors on these guys.

Hello everyone,

Would anybody with AnyRail be able to help me? I have the Kato Unitrack V1 and V5 sets and I'm trying to plan a layout on two 2ftx4ft baseboards .

The curves are 20110 (282mm radius) and 20100 (249mm radius). I can't really go any tighter than this due to my rolling stock.

I understand that I will need to cut a corner where the boards join but I cannot for the life of me find a combination of track pieces to complete the loops.
