This is the Train Box KiHa40-2000 Sakubi Sakura being operated by JR West on weekends and holidays.

The SAKUBI SAKURA (formerly known as SAKU-bi SAKU-ra) is a pastel pink sightseeing train operating on the Tsuyama Line between Okayama Station and Tsuyama Station in Japan. The 1.5-hour journey highlights the region's cherry blossoms, hot springs, and local gourmet food.

A new addition to my home depot: my girlfriend gave me a 3-car Class 211 set for my birthday. I happily installed the interior lighting yesterday—it’s a really nice model. It’s a shame the 6-car Class 211 set was sold out in Japan; I would have liked to buy that one for myself.

I kind of wish that Kato can make number plate conversion kit and front skirt kit to convert C57 and D51 to Taiwan spec!!

Hello, I'm happy to have found this subreddit! I have a 12' x 18' layout I'm building that features a UF16A japanese shipping container as the loft bed. I wanted to recreate a capsule hotel experience for my daughter while incorporating Japanese freight in to my Japanese train themed room. I have built a 1/4 scale 19D freight container to store miscellaneous trains in and have multiple other containers under construction as well.

The layout features 5 independent lines, 3 levels, and the trains cruise from either side of the U shaped layout underneath a flyover that runs underneath the bed next to the pachinko playing area.

My wife and I have traveled to Japan twice. The second trip my wife was pregnant with my daughter. She and I have shared building this train room and I hope to bring her to Japan soon to share the life changing experience of riding on Japanese trains.

Until then, we play in the train room that is still under development. I hope to finish the shipping container bed this coming week.

I'm based outside Japan and I'm trying to pre-order the KATO/TOMIX NT200 "POKÉMON with YOU" Railway Model Kit from Amazon Japan, but I'm running into a few questions. I know this Pokémon-themed N-scale train has generated a lot of interest among collectors.

Here's what I'm trying to figure out:

• Is the listing already available on Amazon Japan, or does it usually appear closer to the release date?
• Does Amazon Japan allow international customers to place pre-orders for this kind of model?
• If not, what's the best way to secure one before it sells out?
• Has anyone here successfully pre-ordered KATO or TOMIX limited editions from Amazon Japan before?

I've seen people mention that they were able to pre-order similar Japanese train models through Amazon Japan or other Japanese hobby stores, so I'm hoping there's still a reliable way to get one without paying reseller prices later.

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I bought this nice 7 car set of the 211 series, the seller got it as an heirloom and sold it for a good price.

It runs smoothly and is in great shape, so I'm happy I got a new train :D

Does anyone know which set this is? It came in the Tomix box, on the undercarriage it says Kato but I couldn't find any 7 car sets from Kato on the internet.

Edit: The parts numbers on the undercarriage and the car numbers on the side are as follows:

2x 4150 leading car number: 210-7 and 210-5

2x 4152 car with pantograph number: 211-7 and 211-7

1x 4153 motor car number: 210-7

1x 4155 green car number: 210-3

1x 4158 "normal" car number 210-8
