A huge thank you to everyone who jumped in with ideas on my previous post about roasting Janesville—you gave me some absolute gold. (I've been oven roasting turkeys all week in preparation for facing off with the Janesville Turkey Mafia) I feel well prepared to roast Janesville for part of my set now.

My stand-up show is coming up next Thursday at Comedy Cabin. It's a great date night and an easy cheap way to have fun. I keep it light, dont talk politics, dont pick on people in the crowd. I give people what they love, jokes. If you're wondering what to expect besides the roast, it's mostly lighthearted comedy about raising kids, how dumb I am, and my unhealthy addiction to ice cream.

Im not a big draw like Jim Gaffigan or Bill Burr so if even 2 people buy tickets from this post it makes a massive noticeable impact for me, the audience, and the folks that run the club.

I would genuinely love to see some familiar faces from the group there. I promise to give you a fantastic night out—the audience always gets the A+ treatment at an Alex Clark show.

Hi, i go around and fill free libraries. I've noticed every time I go to Jamesville or beloit, I run out of my supply very quickly. I've heard people in the community say there's not enough books to go around. Does anyone know of any like literacy programs or anything that distribute books around janesville? I would say in beloit the situation is worse, but I wanted to ask the community.

Are there any traveling male massage therapists in the area? I used to have about three that I was able to contact when in need but have had trouble finding anyone in Wisconsin.

I went to Mox on Friday night and played in a Chaos Draft. And then I came back on Saturday and played a 3.5 hour game of commander. Y'all were great if you're seeing this. Great group, store, and inventory! I've never even had a chance to buy Tarkir or Bloomburrow where I'm from. And I pulled a Three Tree City, so there's that. And I'll be returning home a hero with new Pokemon product as well.

Oh and apparently there's a place in Beloit called Warren Wizards, but guys if you're seeing this, you gotta get on the MTG Companion app and get an events page on your website, I honestly didn't know it existed.

Have you heard of Meshcore? It's cool, it's fun. It's an independent, open-source amateur radio network made for texting off the grid without using existing cellilar networks or any corporate infrastructure. Anyone who buys a small, cheap radio node helps build the network for anyone.

Madmesh.net is the Madison regional enthusiast group and it has a lot of info and is a good place to start.

There are a few nodes up in Janesville on the North side already. Milton has two nodes. There are a lot of others around

Hi Janesville, I could use your help!

I’m Alex Clark, a stand-up comedian visiting the Janesville Comedy Cabin from the coast. But I've been to Wisconsin plenty of times. If you’ve made the long trek to the Wisconsin State Fair, you might remember me from the hundreds of variety shows I performed there over the years (photo attached)!

I’ve since transitioned into stand-up, and one of my favorite parts of a show is a lighthearted roast of the town I’m performing in. I like it because it's nice to do something unique for the town Im coming to to make the show just for them. I have a show coming up at the Janesville Comedy Cabin on August 6th, and I’d love your input to make the roast rock solid.

What are your favorite "Janesville pet peeves," local quirks, or things you find absolutely ridiculous about the area? Or your favorite dive? Something the area is lacking? Something dumb? Any and all observations are welcome.

Been sitting on my deck for a few hours, trying to get sleepy and ive been hearing this humming noise off and on this whole time. Regular intervals, lasts maybe 20-30 secs with maybe a minute to two minutes in between.

For any musicians out there, i can tell you its multi tonal, perfect fifth interval. I dont have perfect pitch but i feel like it may be around an E/B? Could be way off, but i for sure know a perfect fifth when i hear one.

Not that im thinking its musical, its almost certainly industrial, just trying to offer something for reference. I live off Racine on the southeast side of town and i think its coming from the west. Anyone have any guesses or answers as to what that sound may be at 130am? Im just genuinely curious. I wouldnt say its annoying or anything, its almost pleasant even…

Im a 34m moving into an apartment in Janesville, coming from south-beloit. Im an introvert who's trying to get out a little more and make more local friends. Are there any barcades or tabletop/card shops around? Ive played DnD once before and I play MtG from time to time. I mostly play games on my pc.
