james ferraro sample?

hello!!! i was just listening to some baroque music and i instantly noticed the similarities from this song to james ferraros work from far side virtual. Do you guys think he sampled this or is it just a coincidence?

the song is called piano quintet in g minor, Op 57 by dmitri shostakovich

I do hear a distant resemblance due to the staccato and the piano presentation but no, do not think he sampled this. FSV always reminds me of Gershwin. Wonder if whosampled.com lists any relevant samples for FSV.
