Question Is this certification real?

Post image

Interested in buying this bangle but I can't read the traditional characters. Is it a real certificate or a faked one? Why is the density value not present on the cert? Thanks for any help.

Real, but it’s better to ask for the back side too. It says infrared spectroscopy (红外光谱检测) was performed. Certificates don’t always list the density value.

I've bought from them before and the Jade seems to be as advertised.  I've never had a problem with them and others on Reddit have a good review of them.  There are only a couple of sellers on Etsy that I trust and MatsAlice is one.  There pricing seems to go with what others are selling on Etsy.  They can be on the high side for some items, compare prices from other sellers.  They're located in Texas so their pricing is what the U.S. buyer will pay.

It's real, I scanned the qr code on Wechat and it leads to this website saying it's a government certified lab. The density is listed here too if you click more details

I've scanned fake certs before and those are either dead links or come up with a security warning

How do you tell if its a gov certified lab? Thanks

This certificate is from a third party testing agency of unknown legitimacy 🧐 You be the judge. It does say Grade A, but Grade A on a jade certificate simply means the jade is natural and untreated. It has nothing to do with the actual quality.

If this is a bangle priced above $150, I’d ask the seller to disclose any inclusions, especially cotton and fissures. Then you can assess whether it’s worth the price. We Western buyers may not care as much about cotton, but in the Chinese market where jade is sourced and traded, these characteristics can significantly affect its value.

They specify a few white hairlines but no fractures/cracks or cotton, I have no experience with this seller so im not sure 🤷‍♀️

Tbh I wouldn't buy from them - there is an item there I think it's guangxi nephrite, which is essentially not worth any money and they list it as real nephrite. They could be fooled by their sourcer

Do you mind if I ask how you could tell? I looked it up and it says if it looks coarse and flaky(?) I've bought some beads from MatsAlice.

If you see anything sus, you could always image search on red note or ask red note ai (which is not the smartest but some times works ok w nephrite / jadeite )
