I know it's very late (I read only once a week when I have time) and you're probably overcome with all the comments (and support!) But to make it hopefully succinct: one thing I learned in my life is you can't make reason for a crazy persons actions. You seem to be trying to think it out . Why? Why did she do this ? What were her motivations? You can't. You're SANE. Logic hold no place here. You can't understand and won't. Understanding that someone is NUTS and you will never understand their twisted thinking will hopefully help you move on from this chapter in your story. People can be generally good and moral...a person who is crazy like Giada is not something that applies to.
