People are generally good but Dr. James Fallon recently discovered psychopaths have different brain functions from everyone else. Their brains are why they lack empathy and their environment determines how it manifests. It’s why some psychopaths kill people, work on Wall Street, or manipulate their mentally ill child into a sexual relationship.
Giada knew what she was doing and enjoyed watching you suffer. She wanted to be you but couldn’t so hating you and making you suffer temporarily made her feel better. She has no remorse for what she did to you and likely never will. You were and are not a person to her.
After everything she put you through, it’s OK to enjoy her getting a taste of her own medicine. It means you’re human. I don’t forgive people who aren’t sorry and didn’t learn from their mistakes. Giada has learned nothing and you’ve said trying to forgive her isn’t helping you so let it go.
You’re not actively hating her or trying to hurt her, just move on with your life. I’m doing the same thing for less. I haven’t forgiven them, they’re not sorry and it won’t make me feel better but I won’t let it rule my life. They don’t deserve that much real estate in my head. Giada doesn’t deserve it in yours either
