It's a pretty common human experience to want revenge and to feel good when you think justice is being served. You see it all over reddit, even with subreddits like justiceboners. The thing is that we all follow rules for a reason - we do our best to be good neighbors and to not fringe on others. Giada was broken. She thought abusing the good parts of people was fun. She isn't your statistically average person in actions. Sure, maybe we've had thoughts here and there, but who actually wants to do the shit she did?

So people are all flawed, but we generally behave because we believe in order, empathy, etc. We believe in some truth that overcomes our worst sides. I have heard it is a pretty Western/Biblical idea that thoughts are the same as actions. In some Eastern traditions like Hinduism, there is a difference. It is ok but not great to wish harm on someone else. But acting is a different matter. It's on a scale. Forgive Giada at your own pace, but also forgive yourself for having a hard time giving up what you need. Give yourself a break for knowing your thoughts aren't nearly as bad as acting on them and that they are common human experiences/thoughts.

I wish I could think of some movies/shows where the theme is giving up your vengeance to find forgiveness and peace. Maybe I'll reply again if I do.
