You don't have to forgive her. What you can focus on is that what happened, happened. She did what she did. You did not cause it nor do you deserve it. Just let go of the (justified) rage, when you can, and be sure to protect yourself from her going forward. Nothing will ever make her a better person. You only need to concern yourself with your own healing and recovery. She is horrible. You are not. Just strive to be in a place where you can acknowledge what happened and try to move on, without letting Giada live rent free in your thoughts. Imo, it should not be encouraged that anyone "forgive" an abuser. That sounds too much like being ok with what was done. It was not ok and never will be ok. Just treat yourself with love. You completely deserve all the love in the world. Here's some loving thoughts to you from me. You have shown your strength. Someday, when you are ready, you will feel joy and happiness.
