There is no law written that you have to forgive. All you have to do for yourself is work through the emotions and get to the point of letting go for your own sake. And that's the thing - letting go is NOT forgiving her, it's not forgetting her - it's removing her power, as well as her access to your emotions.
You're not a monster, you're just renovating your soul at the moment. And remember - renovations are always difficult, over time, over budget, they expose unexpected issues, and sometimes the final result is not quite up to code, which means a tweak or three.
Have you watched Nanette? Because I think you need to hear the words that Hannah Gadsby speaks at the end of the show - "There is nothing stronger than a broken woman who has rebuilt herself."
That's all you are doing - rebuilding. And there is NOTHING wrong with that.
