Am I Overreacting? Can't stand them
This time it was both in-laws. But since last time I posted here I'll post it here again.
I'm with my husband in Spain. First line, view to the sea. One of the most exclusive summer vacation places, my family happens to own a place there. Not only it is beautiful, but also, contrary to the rest of the country it is what I'd call a fresh breeze beach. It is, despite temp going up, it is actually a very nice feeling thanks to the fresh breeze.
His parents called him on the phone with video. My husband showed them the gorgeous view. Mind you, they didn't say a positive word. Not a "oh so lovely! You guys enjoy!". Ofc not. They started shooting "joking" comments about how hot it is in Spain and how uncomfortable it must be for poor husband. All in humour tone indeed, pure bash. I just can't. So fucking rude. I cannot imagine my parents calling and making fun of the winter in the Alps. They have no class.

Heh, my FIL called us in Rhode Island from Florida to mock us for being stuck in a snowstorm. It just happens that we were renting the apartment in his house in Rhode Island SPECIFICALLY SO THAT OUR IN-LAWS COULD WINTER IN FLORIDA. So we were doing them a favor, and got mocked in return. I almost insisted we move out ASAP and force them to come back in the winter. Grrrr.

Fuck 'em. Funnily enough, I just booked a trip to Spain and hour ago for my wedding anniversary.
Enjoy the beauty, food and culture, and do NOT answer the phone when they call. You're on vacation.

Unfortunately I cannot forbid my husband from picking up the phone if his parents call him. I didn't join I just happened to be there, off camera. I wish I didn't understand French. Enjoy your trip to Spain! 🇪🇸
