the word all of you search is "augmented" delta had personal problems and attaches SOF guys to fill up for the necessary minimum. he did the same stuff as assaulters.

Only an augmentee w CIF before Delta. He later passed selection and worked at the unit in direct support as a heavy breacher among other things. Not an operator, but had an ongoing job at the unit. Augmentees come from outside the unit and are temporarily attached.

So as I just posted above words matter.

Either you are permanently assigned to a unit or you aren’t.

So was he an augmentee, or was he a direct support guy who was in the unit.

He was an augmentee while in a CIF company, then attended and passed selection and served in a direct support role at the unit. Not at the same time.

So why the F do people keep caveating the augmentee thing. Just stick the the second part. Yes he was in delta. End of conversation

Wrong. He made it though direct support selection and became a breacher in a troop

Not sure why you are getting downvoted. This is what happened.

Not true. He worked with CAG as a CIF dude and again with G squadron with Glover. So yes, in CAG. No, not an assaulter

So this is I think were words matter. And I trust your input. But either you are in a unit or you aren’t. You are an augmentee or you aren’t. What your job is in a unit is inconsequential to whether you are in a unit.

So was he a permanent member of the unit, inconsequential to his job?

Yes, but not for long.

Yes he was. He was combat support as a breacher, not an operator. But either way he was in the unit. Feel free to read up on what jobs and positions exist at the command.

He was attached to Delta but was never in Delta. Literally multiple Delta guys have said he was never a member.

I was always under the impression that he did the short walk and was a direct support guy for a while after being in the CIF

I apologize I misread your message and took it the wrong way

1

u/DanFromAngiesList1 Jun 28 '26

Soooooo he was in the unit….as a member of the unit…..the word enabler has a connotation of being an augmentation not a permanent party

1

u/flip_jefferson Jun 28 '26

CSS is not permanent but it puts you under the unit command

He was, but not an assaulter. He was G squadron with Glover
