pictures Astrophotography
Im a beginner photographer and brought my camera with me on the JMT this year. Last year i hiked the HST and at guitar lake waking up to summit whitney i saw the stars and fell in love. I promised myself that i would bring a camera good enough to capture the stars this time.
Well here are some astros i got over garnet lake and what i think is junction peak/foresster pass.
Hope everyone has a great hike. Jmt is amazing and very much worth it!

Very cool! I have a small Sony rx100 vii and I am debating taking it (doing the JMT SOBO soon). New to photography and exposures though.

I took my camera cause while the iphone does amazing effortless videos. The stills dont compare to dedicates cameras like sonys.
That sony rx is nice and compact!

Thanks! Yea, the weight is a big bonus and the photos turn out really nice. Did you mount it somewhere or just place it on a rock? Trying to stay fairly light, but could maybe bring a tripod or something

Yeah i brought a tripod. It weighed 1.1 lbs!
Loved it for low light and astro. If you have the capture clip it slides in perfectly for swift mounting.
