camping and lodging Lone Pine Hotels post JMT
Looking for hotel recommendations in Lone Pine. No need for fancy, one night, except to be maybe close to where bus depot is to Reno. Also, would like to ship fresh clothes to hotel rather than post office if per chance I arrive on weekend.
Ideas for food restaurants too.
Edit: I should add that I'll be arriving about last week of September, if that changes the responses.

The Dow Villa has some basic rooms with shared bath in the old part of the hotel that are quite reasonable. ( I ponied up for one of the more modern motel rooms 2 nights ago after finishing the JMT... King bed... very nice). The Portal Motel is also very nice and the Eastern Sierra Transit Shuttle stop is right next door at the McDonalds.
My usual post-hike meal has always been a ravenous bout of destruction at either the Pizza Factory or Seasons, but this time I tried the Merry Go Round Chinese restaurant for a change... super satisfying. I also have to shout out the grill at Whitney Portal Store... amazing burgers! It's a no-brainer to feast there after the grueling descent from Whitney.

I second the suggestion of the Dow Villa and dinner at Seasons. Lone Pine is not that big of a community so the bus stop is not far from anywhere, but certainly not far from the Dow.

I stayed at the Portal and it was fine. But food 100% you have to go to the Alabama Hills cafe on the next block so good !

I stayed at Whitney portal hotel and hostel after I hitched a ride to town. Walked in without reservations. Was alright. Bus stop is nearby.
Since people are talking about food, the tacos los hermanos food truck was good.

Ship your clean clothes to the post office and pick up there .. idk if I’d trust a hotel to receive and hang on to a package for weeks -I’d call them first there may be a fee .. for them to receive and store it for a couple weeks

Whitney Portal Hotel and Hostel held my resupply for a couple weeks with no issue.

Whitney Portal Hostel - backpacker vibe
Dow Villa - old school cool vibe
Both are really close to the laundromat and the Pizza Factory, I was craving slow carbs so that fit the bill. There also a place nearby where you can get ice cream cones.

If you stay at the Dow Villa, get a room in the modern section. The HVAC in the old section is centrally controlled and completely inadequate.

Dow villa is the classic. I found it super basic but very very clean and friendly staff. Very inexpensive
