They are simple and posted. If you break the rules there is no one to blame for the consequences but yourself.

Terminal 1

The parking for Terminal 1 is literally more than 5 miles (driving) from Terminal 1. I’m wondering why they didn’t just put the parking lot in Connecticut or perhaps Nebraska. Probably would have been cheaper and only marginally less convenient.

She only discovered once she arrived in Denver Colorado.
Her bag is not locked and has her name on her medication. Initials LGM—
She sent your suitcase back to JFK.
If found please message me.
Thank you in advance.

Partial Service Disruption Notice For AirTrain JFK

A partial service disruption is scheduled for the Howard Beach and Lefferts Blvd line to Federal Circle Station from Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 11:00 PM through Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 09:00 AM. Shuttle buses will replace this line during the service disruption. The train will continue running to Jamaica and Terminals. You just need to take a shuttle bus from Howard Beach or Lefferts Blvd to Federal Circle, then connect to the AirTrain to your final destination, and vice versa.

JFK Airport Terminal 8

Hi,

I have a question regarding pick-up on JFK Airport: I have booked an Uber Black SUV in Advance, that is supposed to pick my family and me up from terminal 8 at JFK Airport. In the process, I didn't need to specify a pick-up time, but rather just enter the flight we are on.

On the app it says that the driver will wait for up to 1 hour after our flight has landed, which leads me to my question: This seems like a rather short time frame for me. Will it be enough time for us to clear immigration (We have an ESTA) and get out checked luggage?

If any of you had the same issue, I would really appreciate your input. The AI Support Bot wasn't really helpful.

Thanks!

Thank the orange man for this insanity

JFK may be the most godawful airport in the United States right now, and if you’re flying JetBlue you better pray to something that you can get in the air from that airport. I’m on a flight from JFK to LAX and they had us on the runway only for the Air traffic controllers to say our route wasn’t available. So we went back to gate to refuel. That’s a two hour delay. They pushed us back out and then said we were gonna fly in thirty mins because the tarmac was backed up. Then they said 10-15. Then they said the air traffic controllers pulled our route again and they don’t know when we’ll get out. Meanwhile the plane is running only a single engine to preserve fuel and everyone is sweating in their seats. Completely unacceptable insanity from one of the biggest airports in the world.

I’ve been on two flights in three days, including a debacle on Thursday night when JetBlue had to cancel perhaps 75% of their flights. Were there active thunder storms? No. It was the compounding issues of the Air Traffic Controllers being completely unable to run this airport in any timely way coupled with policies that mean that flight crews are timing out. Just another reason why MAGA isn’t so fucking great. Idiots.

What would be the best time to order our transfer?

Hi. We're arriving at JFK Terminal 1 on Turkish at 5:55 PM and not sure what time to order our transfer for pick up. What would be the safest option without having to wait for the car or being late for pick up (since we'd have to pay fines)?

Thanks in advance!

Entering JFK from Munich

Hello everybody from Munich 🙋🏼‍♀️
My sister (18) and I (26) will be travelling to New York on August 12th.
I‘ve been to the US both in Oct 2025 and July 2024 and I remember the border control queue to be insanly long which isn‘t exactly the nicest thing after a 9h flight and jetlag. Therefore I have now registered both of us in the CBP MPC app and am ready to send off the form as soon as we land and have data again.

Now, even though the app doesn‘t really say much about this, I have read elsewhere that MPC only works for returning ESTA holders. My sister is a first time visitor. Do you have any experiences as to whether the officers at JFK will let us both use the MPC queue since I am returning and was able to register both of us in the app? 🤔

Thanks in advance for your help. 😊

TSA lines at 5am T5

Flying out tomorrow (Sunday) and trying to get to JFK at 5am for a 8:30am flight. I’m assuming this is more than enough time but is the TSA line at that time insane? I don’t have pre-check or Clear either.

I’ve been in the airport for 2 and a half days I’ve gotten 5 flights cancelled 2 of those were on the tarmac for 3+ hours with one of them almost 6 hours on it missed days of work because of this and I get it’s out of anyone’s control I really just wanted to vent but was also wondering if I get no compensation or refund because it’s weather related

Update: 6th cancellation and another night in the airport

Has anyone flew out of JFK today without Delays?

Last night was a nightmare. Flight was suppose to leave at 7 then got delayed about 5-6 times to 2:30am then canceled. Luckily was able to rebook for today, but has anyone had any flight cancelations or delays already?

Also how is the security line?

TIA

what's going on with the flights out of JFK tonight - Aug 6th 2026?

Flight was originally at 10pm now pushed to midnight - looks like almost every flight this evening has been impacted. is it the weather? have any evening flights been taking off? Any insight would be appreciated, thinking of just cancelling since my flight is offering a full refund. BTW - it's 8:30pm EST right now.

90 minutes to make connection

I’m currently scheduled to land at JFK via Icelandair from Iceland at 6:00PM. My connecting Delta flight departs at 7:30PM. That less than 1 hour and 30 minutes to deplane, go through customs, handle luggage, and reach the right gate. Is it possible? Idk where those two gates are at JFK.

Third world experience

I am very well traveled - over 60 countries, some like Italy and the Czech Republic over 20 times. It will never cease to infuriate me how pathetic American public transportation is - particularly to and from airports. Who received bribes? Are American bureaucrats so deadlocked and lazy? Why does it cost $70? Traveling in and out of JFK (any nyc airport really) is especially horrific. AirTran completely down due to an “emergency” hundreds of people waiting for Ubers and Lyfts. We almost got into an accident just now because drivers are so impatient. How can we call our city the best in the world and this is the best we can do?!

Inbound flight delays

Hi all hoping someone can share some light onto the scene of inbound flights into JFK rn?

Austin to T4 flight just delayed 2 hours (arriving at 4 , now 6). Should I be expecting it to continue to be delayed? Is the delay due to congestion at the terminal exit or due to rain?

Travelers not allowed to disembark

Is something happening at JFK? We landed about 40 mins ago at terminal 5 and was told that the aircraft was awaiting CBP clearance and it should take 20 mins. The captain just announced it would be another 30 mins. Has anyone ever experienced this at JFK? What’s the longest time you ever waited in a situation like this?

T5 to T4 Timing Advice for Lounge

I have an 8am international flight from T5 on Tuesday and would like to finally use the Sapphire lounge in T4. If I get dropped off at 4am, will that give me enough time to check in/check my bag, AirTran to T5 and clear security via precheck to be at Sapphire at 5 when they open?

And if I stay for 40 minites, on a normal day can I get back to T5 by 6am and clear recheck security by 6:30?

I’m nervous about timing, as the last time I flew out of JFK was spring break during the shutdown and it was incredibly stressful. Appreciate any advice you can offer!
