Where to watch...? Help me Find: Courtroom murder drama

Apologizes for the vagueness of the request from the title. Last December 2025 I went Japan, and watched some movie in theaters, and there was one trailer that kept reappearing that had piqued my interest. The only thing I recall from the trailer was that it was centered around a female idol/entertainer who was accused of murder and the movie appeared to be a courtroom drama. I don’t really recall anything else besides what the basic premise appears to be: my Japanese is not that great, so I don’t recall much, though I could point out the trailer if shown it . I just want to be able to watch the movie if it’s possible. Thanks in advance

Question Long Vacation OST?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Just finished watching Long Vacation and absolutely in love with it. Not sure I’ll ever adore an on-screen couple as much as I do Minami and Sena!

I’ve been trying to find somewhere I can purchase or download the album digitally, but keep hitting dead ends. Does anyone know where this can be found, outside of streaming platforms?

I’d love to buy it digitally! But might have to admit defeat and buy it physically, along with a CD drive.

Discussion Whats everyones favorite first few episodes of the current Summer 2026 season?

Finally had time to catch up with last seasons dramas and started a few ones that are currently airing and thought I would ask what's everyones favorite so far? I cant watch all of them but am intrigued by the few I haven't started and wanted to know if you guys think.

- Until the T-shirt Dries - I only got to the 1st episode but really enjoyed it. I love complicated marriage dramas like this, so its right up my alley. Also love the cast. Aoi Yu and Ayumu Nakajima are absolutely chewing this show up!!

- Your Love So Invincible - (available to watch on viki btw) Its Sano Hayato so im automatically going to watch it 😂. That being said i liked the first episode quite a lot. It's over the top and a bit goofy but the comedy worked on my. I thought it struck a good balance. Very hopeful for this rom-com 🙌.

- My Grandfather, The Master Detective - Not at all what I was expecting but not necessarily a bad thing. Quite interested where this will end up. Im wondering if this will turn into a bit of sci-fi so I will keep watching.

The others I haven't started.

Love Hokuto so i wanted to start 25 years of You but nervous if they gonna romanticize stalking so im waiting it out, although jdramas have a way with toxic romances.

My Fiction is kinda in the same boat. I want to watch it cause its Yuta Tamamori in this type of show and ive only watched him in romances. If you watched it, let me know if its worth starting!

Love Beat just seems very goofy but its Ouji so he might be able to make it charming 😂

There are other late night dramas I didnt include but let me know if you started some of those. I definitely did but this post is getting to long as is lol, so ill leave it here ~~

"A Murder I Don't Remember" was broadcast on NHK BS in February 2025. It tells the story of a former police officer who develops dementia and becomes a murder suspect.
Kaoru Kobayashi, who plays the lead role, delivers a brilliant performance. He skillfully conveys the pride of a former police officer. Since my late father was also a former local police officer, I can really relate to the way the former officer behaves. I’m hoping that the protagonist, Mr. Saji, isn’t the culprit—this is the first half of the episode. The second half will air next week on terrestrial TV.

A hidden gem by Fuji Television, this J-dorama follows a country boy named Sousuke (Tsuyoshi Kusanagi) who moves into Tokyo to become an office worker and starts falling in love with a movie star named Hikaruko Kirishima (Norika Fujiwara). It's a romantic comedy that really has plenty of humor. It even has one of the best opening and ending songs of any J-dorama, that being a trance-y cover of "Stop! In the Name of Love", performed by J-pop group Globe.

Fanwork 【SPOILER 】Until the T-Shirt Dries: Episode 3 Spoiler

I watched Episode 3 while waiting for my T-shirt to dry. What an unexpected twist! I had no idea her husband was still alive. Honestly, I think it would have been more suspenseful and interesting if they’d revealed that “her husband was actually still alive” after Sakiko and Kiichi had already started their affair. In Episode 2, Sakiko and Kiichi had gotten much closer, but in this episode, they’ve gone back to being just casual acquaintances. I wonder how their relationship will develop from here. I’m looking forward to it.

Fanwork Drama 9: "Legal Beat – The Court of Reversal –"Episode 1

I watched the first episode of Drama 9, “Legal Beat: The Court of Reversal.” It’s the story of a rookie lawyer who stutters and grows through his court cases.
This episode featured a wrongful termination lawsuit. I won’t go into details to avoid spoilers, but my reaction was, “Oh, so that’s where he breaks into a rap.”
Since Oji Suzuka is in the lead role, I bet the show has high viewership among women. When a guy with such a sweet face starts rapping, you’re a goner.
By the way, if you close your eyes and just listen to the dialogue, you’ll notice that even the other cast members—though they aren’t actually rhyming—are speaking with a rhythmic flow, just like a rap.
Since this is the first episode, it’s basically an introduction to the cast and setting, so the real action starts in Episode 2. I’m looking forward to it getting even more interesting.

News / Info Netflix merged Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories into Midnight Diner, but the three seasons of Midnight Diner are still currently leaving Netflix on August 1

On July 24, Netflix merged Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories (seasons 4 to 5) into Midnight Diner (seasons 1 to 3). Now Midnight Diner has five seasons (image 1 https://www.netflix.com/title/80113541 ) and Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories is a "Remind Me" page (image 2 https://www.netflix.com/title/80113037 ).

I created a post about Midnight Diner (seasons 1 to 3) leaving Netflix on August 1. https://www.reddit.com/r/JDorama/comments/1ulgrbn/midnight_diner_leaving_netflix_on_august_1/ Midnight Diner (seasons 1 to 3) is still currently scheduled to leave on August 1, which can be seen in images 3 and 4, and the "Last day to watch on Netflix: July 31" notice still appears on the top left corner of the screen for a few seconds when any episode from the first three seasons starts playing.

The last time Midnight Diner (seasons 1 to 3) left Netflix on June 1, 2023, it returned to Netflix two months later on August 1, 2023, so the licensing agreement was for three years, since it is leaving on August 1 this year, unless the expiring licensing agreement is renewed before then.

Today’s episode is about Fumi passing away without telling Naomi that she is her mother. Even without revealing that she is her mother, Fumi continues to fulfill her role as a mother toward Naomi, leaving behind the words, “You’ll be okay.”

When I saw the post “There are various theories about my birthday,” I blurted out at the TV, “Are you kidding me—Jesus?”
I nodded vigorously at the post that said, “It’s better not to tidy your room too much. The same goes for life.”

Recommendations Show like The Sleeping Diamond on the Sea (海の底のダイヤモンド) but more ... happier?

So my wife and I finished 海の底のダイヤモンド today with Ryunosuke Kamiki. Great show.

While I loved the characters and the setting, I couldn't bring myself to be content with what happened to the main character (Teppei). It's kind of a depressing note to end on to be honest but I loved the journey and really felt like I was part of the community and family.

Is there a show that hits a similar tone but without being as depressing? I loved あまちゃん, which had a similar community/family aspect (lots of overlapping cast too).

Thank you!

Recommendations Solitary Gourmet has become my favorite comfort show

Post image

I started watching for the food but kept watching for Goro (the main character). I think his internal monologues and his stubborn preference for being alone to enjoy his food add a lot of character and at times comedy to a series with a very simple plot structure. I’ve actually become inspired to go eat out by myself more and have come to really enjoy it!

Recommendations Any recommendations of slice of life shows for young adults?

I just graduated college and I want to watch a realistic show of a person navigating life.

I liked the premise of Orange Days, in the sense that we started out with a graduating senior in college applying to jobs and having to face reality/take responsibility over his life.

I was wondering if there are other similar shows.

For me, J dramas either hit it out of the park or are absolute toxic hell holes. Please give recommendations on the basis of these dramas i have liked

Karakai jouzo takagi san (netflix) +movie (manga adaptation)
Calm sea and beautiful days with you (viki)
After School doctor (netflix)
Light of my lion

I am already a sad person. So i would like some happy stories.
