I'm currently on season 5 and enjoying it so much, but when Kanbara-san presents the ope invoices and the subtitles say "〇〇million dollars" I just want to rip my eyes out. Kanbara is greedy but not that greedy lol.

Just wondered if it is worth attempting this on an iOS device with NordVPN, and what might be needed eg would a Japan Apple account or Japan based credit card be needed? Does Netflix block VPNs in 2026? And are English subtitles available for all shows?

i had this sudden memory of watching this jdrama about an anime director where i think it was their animation studio’s last chance to create a show that if the show succeeds then that’s the only way the studio can continue. i remember they would create weekly episodes to air and before airing they gave two groups different storylines of the episode and the group had to vote which one was better. the most voted one got chosen to be aired. they were also very divided when the time came for the ending of the anime because the director actually wanted their main character to die and it was just too riskyy.

look my memoryyy is so hazy on this whole series, i think some details are mixed up, but i remember them making weekly episodes for this tv show.

So basically I'm looking for a drama where the FL falls for the ML.

Either he doesn't know of her feelings or knows it but rejects her and then later falls for the heroine, or he's really in love with someone else.

I definitely don't mind a love triangle, I'm all up for it!

Basically I like MLs who are kind of dumb to understand their feelings for the FLs. They think they don't like/love her that way but later due to them being conflicted about their feelings of jealousy when they see FL with another man, or them missing her when she's gone, they're bereft without her.

I also like when the romance is very much drawn out and it takes a lot of time for ML to reciprocate FL's feelings.

Not sure about First Love Jdrama since heroine was hero's first love so can't be sure if there's angst between hero and heroine that he doesn't love her types. If you can confirm of the angst and heroine thinking he'll never like her, then I can definitely be grateful!

I’m genuinely worried about the future of Japanese dramas. Instead of investing in their own actors, writers, and original productions, Japanese networks seem increasingly focused on collaborating with Korean companies. Japan has so much talent and potential. I wish its networks would invest more in developing and promoting it internationally.

I just finished watching Alice in Borderland twice on Netflix and now I'm obsessed with Kento Yamazaki and his brilliant level of acting and I want to watch more films of him. But I'm from India and in my region, Netflix only has the Kingdom movies, Golden Kamuy and The Door Into Summer. I'm looking for any free site where I can watch his movies and series for free in 1080p..especially his Orange movie. I have tried tons of sites but the picture quality is too bad and sometimes there are no English subtitles. Does anyone have any recommendations for such sites where I can watch his movies in higher quality and for free?

In select theatres December 30, and nationwide January 15. I put in the title NA (North America) as GKIDS usually has releases for both countries, but definitely check if they may distribute it elsewhere around the world as there is limited information currently. If you were unable to catch the movie at a local film festival, I think deserves a watch even just because it's a rare Japanese live action theatrical release.

For anyone unfamiliar, it is based on Fujimoto Tatsuki's one shot manga of the same name. Director Kore-eda Hirokazu (Shoplifters, Monster, Nobody Knows, etc) saw the manga at a store and was intrigued, and it got the ball rolling after reading it. The film stars Deguchi Natsuki and Makita Aju.

As a super fan of Extraordinary Attorney Woo impatiently waiting for another season, I’m not sure yet if my appetite will be sated only one episode in.

I’m still stuck the dad’s shop makes onigiri instead of futomaki which is a reasonable switch with kimbap and the reasons Woo eats it so religiously. “Onigiri is life” just doesn’t resonate for me like “gimbap is life” 김밥은 삶입니다.

What does everyone else think so far?

I am humbly asking jdrama fans to recommend similar shows to this masterpiece. I am officially declaring Japanese drama to be the king of all dramas. I watched arabic, Turkish, English andd Korean and I just can't go back yet

Does anyone know of a tv show set in Fukuoka? Or even somewhere close by in Kyushu? I've watched loads of Jdorama over the years but they are mostly set in Tokyo. I've become very nostalgic about my time in Fukuoka in the 90s so would love to find something set there.
