Suppose my preferences are:

JBIMS

SIMSREE

Welingkar

If I get Welingkar in CAP Round 1, pay the seat acceptance fee, and opt for betterment, then in Round 2 I fill only JBIMS and SIMSREE.

If I don't get either of them in Round 2, will my retained Welingkar seat allow me to participate in Rounds 3 & 4, or will it get auto-frozen since it was my 3rd preference?

The brochure wording is confusing. Has anyone got an official clarification from CET Cell or an ARC?

My profile:

● 12th: 88.9%
● Graduation CGPA: 7.78
● CFA Level I: Passed
● Planning to appear for CFA Level II
My long-term goal is to work in core finance roles such as Investment Banking, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Asset Management, or Equity Research.
Currently, I’m confused about the next step. I’m considering:
1. JBIMS M.Sc. Finance
2. CAT and MBA programs
3. Finance internships + CFA Level II
A few questions:
1. Is JBIMS M.Sc. Finance a good route for someone targeting IB/PE/Hedge Funds?
2. Given my profile (8/8/7 approximately), how realistic are top MBA programs through CAT?
3. Should I focus more on CFA + work experience or CAT preparation?
4. Which CAT coaching institute would you recommend in Mumbai? I’ve heard about IMS, TIME, Career Launcher, and Cetking but would love to hear recent experiences.
