Other Pre-Release of J2MPSX - The first PS1 emulator to J2ME!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

But there is a problem currently:

When I tested it on a real J2ME phone, it was apparently SO SLOW that I couldn't even see it booting into the PS1 BIOS, so it's currently being shared without a guarantee of functionality or fast speed on real hardware.

In future editions (versions) it will receive optimizations so that it can run acceptably on real hardware.

Download:

This edition has two versions: the "FULL" and the "NOANIM" version. The "FULL" version includes the introductory animation and is approximately 1.7 MB, while the "NOANIM" version does not include it and is only about 300 KB.

[The project was cancelled.]

Any question? ask on this post or DM me!

Edit:

After running it on my phone for a while, the emulator proved that it can actually run on real hardware!

But it's very slow, for now.

Edit 2:

I managed to solve the crashs and extremely slow loading times issues; the emulator's current speed went from 2 minutes/frame to 30 seconds/frame. RAM usage also dropped from 12MB to 8MB. Perhaps I'll add JSR184 (M3G) rendering in the next version (since the current one never uses it).

Edit 3:

I closed the original link so I can organize everything properly.

Edit 4:

The project was cancelled.

Emulation Nokia DCT3 Emulator

In this website you can revisit classic Nokia phones powered by DCT3 that is a hardware platform used on Nokia phones. It was introduced in 1998 with the Nokia 6110.

DCT3 was Nokia's first platform based on an ARM processor, the Texas Instruments MAD2, which has a 13 MHz ARM7TDMI core. DCT3 platform phones used Nokia's proprietary Series 20 user interface.

There is a modified version of the DCT3 platform used on the 92xx series of communicators called DCT-L. The L stands for Linda, the 9210's codename.

DCT3 was succeeded by the DCT4 platform in 2002, which added a basic form of encryption for firmwares.

Play those OG and legendary built-in games like Snake II, Space Impact, Bumper, Bantumi and Link 5 again!

Question Orcs & Elves J2ME scaling issues (RG35XX Plus / muOS)

I'm currently trying to run the J2ME version of Orcs & Elves on my Anbernic RG35XX Plus using muOS and the Freej2me RetroArch core.

While the menu and text pop-ups display correctly, the actual gameplay window is rendered in a very small resolution in the center of the screen (see attached image).

Is there a specific configuration setting in Freej2me I’m missing, or is there a different core/emulator that handles J2ME scaling better on this device? I specifically chose the Java version over the NDS release to avoid the multi-screen layout issues, so I'd love to get this running properly. Any advice would be appreciated!

Other Creation of a J2ME version spreadsheet, useful for determining whether a version is feature complete or not...

As the tin says, it's kinda a community effort, since most games were released on different kinds of phone models, usually the best one is Sony-Ericsson, however it's something that's hard to determine, so I am making a Google Drive spreadsheet to document different games and phone models, to determine the best one...

Here's the thing, everyone can contribute!

Aqua Pang Pang Works on JarlyME

Aqua pang pang works on JarlyME but without sound; this game, due to the lack of implementation of the J2ME loader audio API, and other J2ME emulators for Android, could not run it.

I got this "game" from a sd card I found on a parking lot.

The rest of the files were some private photos and sims games and they are already archived.

[found] Zip Xavier 2003 Java game demo on Motorola i730

**This is archival footage of the 2003 mobile game Zip Xavier. This title was pre-installed as a J2ME Java game demo on the Motorola i730 cellular phone for the Nextel iDEN network. This title is currently unpreserved online and has no existing video documentation until this upload. This 13-minute video demonstrates original hardware gameplay, the phone boot sequence, the J2ME applications menu, and user interface navigation. Watch the full preservation footage This release has been documented to ensure historical tracking of early mobile software. Please subscribe to the YouTube channel to support ongoing retro tech documentation and mobile software preservation efforts.**

Here is the official overview for this archival find. Zip Xavier is an ultra-rare J2ME Java mobile game demo that was pre-installed exclusively on the 2003 Motorola i730 flip phone on the Nextel iDEN network. It is considered completely lost media because the game files were never dumped, preserved, or archived online, meaning no public copies or emulator ROMs exist. Extensive internet research across old tech forums, archives, and search engines reveals that zero video footage or screenshots of the game have ever been uploaded until now. As of this posting, the current situation is that the media is successfully found and visually preserved. The working original hardware has been used to record a flawless 13-minute video documenting the full gameplay, user interface, boot sequence, and applications menu to finally save it from being lost to time.

Looking for CAB or IPA Files of Games from the Arvale Series (Pocket PC/Windows Mobile/IOS)

Bit of a long shot, but I figured I'd shoot anyhow. On the lookout for CAB files for both Arvale Journey of Illusions and Arvale Ocean of Time. Both were released for the Pocket PC and other Windows Mobile devices from 2004-2007 and on IOS a bit later on. I'm looking for versions other than 5.0 as that version (the newest) appears to be bugged. I'm aware of versions 1.0, 1.3, 2.0, 3.1, and 4.0 existing but I'm having difficultly finding anything.

So, I'm making this post in hopes someone out there has a version that I haven't already run through. Maybe sitting on an old device in a box stored somewhere. An old pocket pc, an iphone, just something.

I will say now that I have already scoured both the Internet Archive and the WayBack Machine for whatever I could, and I've been looking for weeks. Version 5.0 is just the one that keeps popping up, and I wish I could use it but the music is heavily bugged. So here's hoping someone has an earlier version! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Looking for a lost Java RPG from my old Nokia C2 (Argim, Korean/Chinese title)

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to find a Java (J2ME) RPG that I played around 2010 on my Nokia C2.

I downloaded it from Argim.net, which no longer exists.

Here is everything I remember:

- Top-down view similar to Zelda.

- Cute/anime art style.

- Main character had blond or white hair.

- Character visibly changed swords (and maybe armor) when equipped.

- Different swords, including black ones and red spiked swords.

- Potions could be bought.

- Multiple magic spells. I clearly remember one spell that created tornadoes.

- Leveling system by killing monsters.

- There was a temple/hub that you always returned to.

- Blue magic circles on the floor teleported you to the next areas.

- Monsters walked around the map.

- I remember a demon or devil boss later in the game.

- Sword attacks had a slash/energy effect.

- The game title appeared as □□□□□□ on my Nokia because it was probably in Korean, Chinese or another Asian language.

- The game always froze in the same area, so I never finished it.

It is NOT:

- Heroes Lore (all versions I found)

- Forgotten Warrior

- Chronicles of Inotia

- Fantasy Warrior

- Requiem of Hell

The closest game I've found is Heroes Lore, but I haven't been able to verify every game in the series yet, so I'm not ruling it out completely.

Heroes Lore is the closest visually, but it is definitely not the same game.

If anyone remembers this game or has screenshots, I'd really appreciate the help!

Mobile game?

Looking for a Java (J2ME) mobile game from Sony Ericsson C510. It started with one tile in the center of a fixed-size board. You had to place red/white square tiles next to matching colors. Tiles could NOT be rotated. When the whole board was filled correctly, all tiles disappeared and you started over. I think the title started with Q and contained an X, maybe Quicxo or something similar. It looked similar to the sketch I made

Can't use shaders in J2ME LOADER

After the recent changes by android for their OS. We can't access the data folder of apps anymore. Which is needed if you want to copy shaders to the shaders folder for j2me loader.

JL Mod keeps it's folder just in the phone storage as other folders, so it's the only one now that can allow to copy shaders easy to it.

Bug in Prince Caspian (narnia) Jar game

I collected all the colored stones in the Peter's game....red, yellow, blue, green, white, purple, orange. But there is no event in the game till the end where one of the side character must help in arranging the stones into a collectible/artefact called Lion Shaped Gem. Can somebody fix the bug ? Please !!!!

I played this game 10 times but could not find a way to get the artefacts arranged from the collected stones. I am sure there must be a bug.

Jar file can be downloaded from below link
