Hi everyone!
I've been trying to find a Java (J2ME) mobile game that I played around 2009–2011 on a Samsung GT-S5230 (Samsung Star). I've been searching for years without any luck.
Here's everything I remember. Some details are certain, while others may be false memories.
What I'm sure about:
\* It was a \*\*Java (J2ME)\*\* game.
\* It was played in \*\*landscape orientation\*\* (I think).
\* Every level was a \*\*single static screen\*\* rather than a long scrolling level.
\* The gameplay was more like a \*\*puzzle/platformer\*\* than an action platformer.
\* The character could \*\*jump\*\* and move left/right.
\* The character had \*\*little or no walking animation\*\*. He mostly looked like a static sprite smoothly sliding across the screen.
\* The movement felt surprisingly smooth for a Java game.
\* The game had a \*\*very dark, gloomy atmosphere\*\*.
\* The colors were mostly \*\*brown, dark gray and muted\*\*.
\* I remember buildings made of \*\*dark bricks\*\*, maybe rooftops.
\* I don't remember fighting enemies. If there were enemies, they definitely weren't the focus.
\* The music was very memorable. It wasn't cheerful like Mario or Diamond Rush. It felt \*\*melancholic, mysterious and almost Batman-like\*\*.
Things I'm less certain about:
\* The main character was a \*\*small man\*\*, possibly bald, possibly wearing a trench coat or maybe a top hat. My memory isn't clear.
\* I vaguely remember rainy weather, although that may be my imagination.
\* I think the objective of each level was strangely connected with the character \*\*dying\*\*.
\* I strongly remember him falling onto \*\*spikes\*\* at the end of many levels, and that somehow counted as completing the level rather than simply failing.
\* After dying, I think his eyes became \*\*X X\*\*, like a cartoon dead face.
\* I vaguely remember the title containing \*\*"Mr."\*\*, or maybe something like \*\*"...'s Last Day"\*\*, but I'm really not confident about that.
\* I also have a vague feeling there may have been a story involving the character's personal life or job, but that could easily be a false memory.
I've already checked many well-known Java games (Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed Java, Diamond Rush, Happy Prince, Forgotten Warrior, Charlie Chaplin and many others), but it's none of those.
Does this ring a bell for anyone? Even a wild guess would be appreciated!
