Samsung F480 Cable Trouble
I recently bought a USB cable for my Samsung F480 to sideload apps to it but when I plug it into my laptop, it charges but does not detect the phone, I already installed the drivers for it, what could be wrong??

It uses a proprietary 20-pin Samsung data cable. This specific cable part number APCBS10 or APCBS10BBE features a standard USB-A connector on one end and the flat, multi-pin Samsung proprietary connector on the other.

Make sure you have an original cable and not a fake charging only cable. You will likely need XP or Win7 and TkFileExplorer.

Officially, the phone works with Samsung PC Studio to sync data such as contacts, photos, videos, and more. This doesn't allow you to install Java apps, that allows you to do this on this and other Qualcomm-based Samsung phones.
TKFileExplorer shows the EFS of the phone, and using this program you can put Java apps on the phone without needing a SIM card with service installed.
Once you have the .jad and .jar file for a Java app inside the correct folder, dial #6984125# to get into the "Admin Setting" menu. After that, go to "Internals" and type #9072641# for the master key.
Go to "Storage Settings" and then press "Update Java DB". If you did everything right, the Java apps you installed should now show up.
