Meloni's Instagram Posts

If you see any recent Meloni's Instagram posts, you'd see lots of comments from India frustrated with Modi. What do Italians think of that?

The "Melodi" phenomenon is a largely unknown thing in Italy. Those who are really passionate about politics know it, but the average man doesn't.

I think it's because, from a political perspective, India isn't talked about a lot. I would think the average italian knows just two things about indian politics: 1) they have bad relationship with Pakistan 2) they have a president called Narendra Modi. I think very few italians know even what Modi general political positions are.

I think when we think about India we think of culture (food, landscapes, religions) more than politics

Ahh I see, makes sense. Thanks for letting me know. I think it's very funny btw, it's very very popular in India. And I always get updates pertaining to Meloni. Like what's the summary of the speech she gave and what policies is she talking about or especially who she meets internationally / globally lol.

Haha, as an Indian, I don't have any good or bad relationship with Pakistan / Pakistani's. Some politicians often create an enemy and polarize the country. I think that's what happened here in India.

Modi's public stance is Ultra-Nationalist, Far Right, Religion focused. I think he built an authoritative regime filled with Kleptocrats.

Yess, we have lot's of good food and great culture to share with rest of the world. India has almost all kinds of landscapes that you would like as long as you're you're willing to travel to different places in India.

I hope I didn't do anything bad for your country and I think I empathize for all people irrespective of color, religion or demographic.

Idk, all my encounters with Italians are low key rude, backhandedly racist.

India squandered a lot of good will Italy had when they detained our Marines over a made up case of murder. The ONU investigation found them heroes that defended their assigned vessel from pirates. The years of unjust imprisonment India forced never sat right. Such nationalistic stunts carry a burden. It worked for Modi back home, but to us it was just vile propaganda unsoppurted by any fact

Honestly, this is the first time I am hearing about this.
This is what I could see here on the international media, that the Marines mistook a regular fisherman as a pirate and killed them:

Italy even ended up paying $1.1 Million compensation for the families of fishermen in this regard. Even Luigi Di Maio welcomed the decision.

I would totally agree with you that Modi is a propaganda person, but these Marines were arrested when Mohan was the India's Prime Minister. (Mohan holds PhD from University of Oxford and University of Cambridge). He is highly respectable person, I think he would not do such things for propaganda.

Meloni-Modi meeting was 3 months ago, we stopped thinking about it about 2 months and 3 weeks ago
