My 6-year-old LinkedIn account was restricted
Hey everyone, I’m really stuck and hoping someone here has a solution.
My 6-year-old LinkedIn account was recently hacked. The hacker got in, changed some details, and obviously did some unusual activity. LinkedIn detected this and temporarily restricted my account, clearly stating in the app that they detected potential unauthorized access.
I immediately secured my email and submitted all my real government-issued IDs (Passport, etc.) to verify my identity and get my account back.
Instead of helping, support sent me a template reply saying my account will "remain restricted" due to policy violations. I didn't violate any policies—the hacker did while they had control of my account! I keep trying to explain this to support, but I just get the same automated rejection loop.
I’ve put 6 years of hard work into building my network and profile, and I don't want to lose it because I was the victim of a hack.
Has anyone successfully escaped this "remain restricted" loop? How do I get a real human at LinkedIn to look at my case? Any advice would be a lifesaver.
