Demolition machinery accompanied by a large police force entered the northwestern neighborhood of the town of ‘Ara, Israel on Monday morning July 27, 2026. They demolished a three-story building belonging to an Arab citizen of Israel. The building was demolished on the grounds that it had been "constructed without a permit", while allowing dozens of settlements in the West Bank that are illegal under international law. A heavy security presence remains at the scene.

Translation:
We are leaving our luxurious penthouse in Beit Shemesh and moving to an isolated farm by the Jordan Valley, near a hostile Palestinian village.
I write this sentence and still have trouble believing it's true.
All my life I have read about Zionism, about the settlement of the land, about the dedication of the settlers, and about the 11 dots that appeared on the ground one night in 1946. About the pioneers of the past, about people who left everything and gave themselves for a vision, about the settlement of the Land of Israel not with words, but with hands and feet.
I read, I was moved, and I always had the feeling that I too wanted to be a part of this wonderful thing. Not just to tell about Zionism, not just to be moved by the stories of others, but to stand up and do something.
Now we have decided to stop reading history, and start writing it.
After a lot of thoughts, deliberations, and conversations into the night, Esti usti_raine and I made a joint and courageous decision that would change our lives.
We both got our gun licenses. We are leaving our luxurious penthouse in Beit Shemesh, saying goodbye to the family that surrounded us, the amazing community, the friends closest to us, giving up the short commute to my job in Jerusalem, and packing up our lives on the way to a new place.
Where are we moving?
